A/N: This is a thanksgiving story but also has elements of Christmas in it. I wrote it in 5.5 hours. Happy thanksgiving to all who celebrate.

E.J's POV:

It's been 5 years since Gina and I broke up at the Camp Shallow Lake prom. And 4 years since Ricky broke up with Gina and came out as bisexual to me and only me.

Ricky and I have been dating for 3 years and the only person I talk to from East High is Ashlyn because she's my cousin. Ricky only talks to Big Red since his break up with Gina was brutal and Nini is too famous to talk to any of us now.

It took Ricky a year to get over his breakup with Gina and find a place to live in New York so that we could be together.

Unfortunately, I did not get much money from being a director of a camp musical that was shown on Disney + so I had to work with what I had it in savings after I left Utah for good. Yeah we had a blue carpet and documentary trailer preview but the rest is history.

I chose not to go down the whole instant fame path because I directed a musical like Kourtney did.

I didn't direct the documentary but I directed the musical that was in the documentary.

I choose to do what I wanted to do. Not what my dad or anyone else wanted me to do.

I moved to New York to live in a dorm because I got accepted into my backup school Pace University mans got a degree in Acting and Play Writing. And when I graduated last year, I got into the MFA program for Acting, Directing, and Play Writing.

Ricky studied at NYU for four years and got a Bachelor's degree in musical theater and creative writing. But he choose not to apply to grad school so he's been looking for a job while he moves into my apartment.

He lived in the dorms for 4 years and also visited his mom in Chicago a few times. That's why some of his suitcases are still here but at the end of the day it works out because he's moving in.

Now, I live in a decent sized apartment that barely fits two people.

"I think that's the last of the boxes E. This box has my sheet music in it. Where should I put it? Woah, you already decorated for Christmas. Thanksgiving is tomorrow and we're leaving for California." I watch my crazy boyfriend struggle to carry three boxes into my apartment door which was on the 6th floor of the building and had an elevator.

"Woah, Ri. Let me take those for you. And I have the Christmas tree up and decorated so that we don't have to put up when we get back. Oh, and I bought this from Target." I grab the mistletoe that I bought while Ricky was getting boxes loaded into his car.

"Is that what I think it is?" I watch Ricky put the single box he's holding down on the couch and lean over to peck me on the lips to tease me.

"Hey! That's not a kiss. you have to kiss the person standing under the mistletoe. Rules are rules." I touch my nose onto his getting closer.

I know it's November 23rd but a mistletoe is good to hang anytime of the year right?

Ricky started to tease me even more and started unpacking his boxes while ignoring the mistletoe that I was holding above his head.

"Fine then. I won't let you rest on my shoulder when you fall asleep on the plane ride to California." I fake ignored  him while he smirked at me.

We play hard to get all the time and it is fun.

"Hey, that's not fair. I like to sleep on planes comfortably." I watch Ricky drop his belongings back into his box and walk over to wrap his arms around my neck to kiss me on the lips for longer than a minute as I hold the mistletoe above us.
