Your POV

"Stay still darling, you're making this harder than it has to be."

Oh..my..god. Ok this has to be intentional. There's no way it isn't. What kind of dentist grabs your chin with their hand and then proceed to call you darling?? This is honestly crazy... He then proceeds to fix the chip like he didn't call me "Darling" two minutes ago. He sets the paste in place and let's it set. I don't exactly know what to do once this paste sets. I'm too flustered to really do anything. I think anyone would if a dentist that looks like him and called them "Darling" would be. He walks over to the counter to get a dental supplies bag ready. I continue to stare up at the ceiling, contemplating my life choices and what's going on. He walks back over and raises the chair back to normal. He hands me the dental bag, smiling at me. I slightly hesitate to grab the back, still not really over the whole situation. He notices my hesitation and bends down to my height, looking me straight in the eyes.

"Do I make you nervous, darling?" He asks with a  teasing tone.

Oh he so knows what he's doing. I face the window to try my best to mask my red hot face. He notices and chuckles, standing back up. Fuck even his laugh is attractive.. I don't care if he's my dentist anymore. He's the one provoking the situation. He places the dental bag on my lap and goes back to his desk. Stunned, I just sit there and just stare at the dental bag. He looks up at me from the monitor and looks into my eyes once more. God it feel like he drills holes into me when he does that.

"You're free to leave you know. Unless you have any concerns." He offered. I'm not sure whether this is an invitation to stay with him longer or an actual question. At this rate I can't tell anymore.

"Oh I'm good. Thank you for the cleaning and fixing the chip. It's been bothering me for awhile." I half-laughed, trying to ease the awkwardness that's surrounding the room.

"Well alright, have a safe drive." He replied, going back to his monitor.

I sit up and begin to walk to the door when I hear him once again. Intrigued, I turn around to listen.

"Hey, make sure to pay close attention to the toothbrush." He added. He quickly turn his attention back to the monitor as quick as the conversation started.

That's odd. Why would he want me to pay attention to a toothbrush? Maybe he gave me this special addition one, I don't know. I leave the room and walk up to the front desk. The lady looks up at me with a grim expression stained on her face. Yeesh, this job hasn't done her very well. Although her facial expressions may be misleading her voice was quite the opposite of her expression.

"You ready to pay dear?" She chimed. I gave her my information to pay and was ready to go.

"Have a lovely day dear!" She called out, waving out to me.

What a sweet lady. Hasn't changed one bit since I was a kid. I hop back in my car and started it up. I'm still confused why he wants me to pay attention to a toothbrush though.. Curiosity is eating away at me but I decide to wait until I get back home. Now that it's 9:30am traffic is going to be a bit more hectic but maybe I can try the quick way home. I go out into the road and make a quick turn onto a one way road which takes me on a nearby street to my house. After awhile of driving I finally made it home. I find myself rushing to get inside without no real reason until I suddenly realize. The toothbrush. I open the bag to find the usual mini toothpaste, floss and got to the toothbrush. At first glance it didn't seem too special but then I turned it around to see that there are markings on the back from what seems to be sharpie. Taking a closer look it was a bit hard to read but it certainly wasn't letters. More like..numbers? Why would he write numbers on the back of my toothbrush though... I keep staring at the numbers for what seems like 10 minutes when something clicks in my head. Did he write down his number??? There's no way he actually wrote down his phone number on the back of my toothbrush. Maybe it's just the company's number so I wouldn't forget? Well then again it's on their home page where you can book an appointment so that wouldn't be it. I decide to let it be for now and decide to cook up something since all I had was a singular apple. While cooking those numbers where engraved in my mind. They just couldn't leave my head, no matter what I did. I watched my favourite show and that didn't help. I read a book and I couldn't even make it past the first page. I tried going for a run, taking a drive, hell even napping and all I thought of were those god damn numbers. It was about 5:30pm and I eventually gave in. I dialled in the numbers into my phone, one dreadful press at a time. I don't know why I'm so nervous, it could just easily be some different person's number. But the thought of actually calling him made my heart run five time faster. My palms were getting sweaty as my index finger hovered over the call button. Why am I so hesitant? If it's his number then it is but if it isn't then even better. I decide to finally press the button and put it on speaker, my heart in my throat. It went through multiple rings and just when I thought it wouldn't go through I saw the numbers indicating the call has indeed went through. My mind was racing as I was expecting some random caller but all of the sudden I hear the familiar deep voice from earlier that day.

"You finally decided to check that toothbrush, huh Darling?"
