Location: Asia
Star Player: Mehdi Taremi
World Cups Played: 5
FIFA Ranking: 20th
Coach: Carlos Queiroz
Iran is a team that seems that every single time they make the world cup but they end up hitting a bad performance, this year, with the acquisition of Porto's center forward Mehdi Taremi and Alireza Jahanbakhsh they will probably be last in their group anyways.
Cons:
Defense: Their defensive line usually can't keep up which most of the 2-on-2 plays due to the fact that they aren't as capable as other offenses
Age: Most of their roster is already old and is still not able to have enough stamina for their star players to play the entire game.
Pros:
Offensive Push: Iran usually uses a technique that bases on placing a good ball to the from the sides of the field to the area and makes one of the strikers (Example: Taremi) have a good opportunity to score
Iran doesn't have a really good squad, like any other asian team aside from Japan and South Korea, but you can still see them make the world cup.
Spot In Group: 4th
