-Victoria's POV-

Once we got to the police station, Jack made sure that I held his hand. I wonder why?..

Anyway, he opened the door for me and closes it behind us. I start to look around, I see a lot of police taking phone calls, talking to each other, or on break.

"Hey, Jack!" I hear a small voice coming from the halls. We both look over and see a sheriff dude with a cigar in his mouth.

"Hey, John. I hope you don't mind, but I brought the kid with me." Mister say's. "Oh I don't mind, the kid can go in your office and stay there while we do this stuff."

"Alright. Victoria, I'll show you to my office." He said, gripping my hand gently. He leads me in my office as I look at the people near by. Jack opens the door to his office and sits me down on his office chair.

"There's going to be a few rules, Victoria. One, don't touch anything unless I say you can, alright?"

"Okay, Mister."

"Rule number two, I'm going to work with John on work stuff, if you need to go to the bathroom or anything, I'll be right there." He says pointing down the hall.

"Okay, how long will this take?"

"I'm not sure."

And then, he was gone.

I wish I brought Monika.. she would have wanted to play with me. But even if I wanted to bring her, I couldn't.

—flashback—

"Leave her alone!" 4 year old Victoria yelled at this so called, "hatzgang".

"Oh yeah little girl? And what are you going to do about it, cry to your mommy?" The middle one said as his friends made fake crying sounds.

"What? No! Just leave her alone! Please, that's all I ask!"

The blonde one looked at me with pity but then spat on me. As I tried to get it out of my eyes, the boy with the black hair stepped on my feet.

I start to cry while yelling.

"Stop! Just Stop! I told you to stop! Why won't you listen?! Please! Leave us alone!"

"Hey dude.. maybe we should-"

"Shut up, Robert!"

The middle one gave me and Monika a look like he was pleased at our faces. We were covered in dirt and Monika was covered in a small amount of blood.

"Let's go guys, I think I hear a car coming!" He said.

They all ran away while me and Monika were crying on the side of the road.

"Oh my stars! What happened?!" I hear someone yell..

—end of flashback—

She's still in the hospital— I hate those dudes. Why would they do that?! Both me and Monika have a scar on our legs because of them.

After all that thinking it made me tired. I start to drift off into a slumber as I hear the door open.

6:52pm

-Jack's POV-

"Victoria, it's time to get up. You need to stay up until at least another hour." I say, trying to get her up.

"Jack?..." she says in a tired tone. My eyes widen a bit but I calm down quickly. "Yes it's me, kiddo. Please wake up."

"Alright.."

"What do you want to do now? I'm done with all my work so I don't have to do anything else besides babysit you for the week!"

"Can we watch TV?"

"Of course."

We sit down and I pick up the remote. Victoria's head is on my shoulder as I lean on the arm rest.

-a few moments later..-

I hear small snoring right beside me. I look over and see Victoria gripping my arm while resting her head on me.

I sigh looking at the clock.

'7:49pm'

I rub my eyes, getting tired myself. I grab the remote and turn the TV off. After doing that, I gently pick up Victoria, making sure she's still comfortable I bring her to her room.

I open the door, greeted by the cold howl of the wind. I set Victoria down and start making her bed.

Once I hear her moving in her sleep, I pick her back up and tuck her in. I move her bangs out of the way and pat her head.

"Goodnight, Victoria."
