It had been a week and a half. Dream was starting to think that all of everything that had happened was just his imagination. Although, it was hard to pin the whole mess that he had to clean up, broken monitors, the words on paper, and the braid in his hair under 'imagination'.
It was stuck on his mind, like molasses. He tried to focus when he had a call with Sapnap, but he kept trailing off and going quiet. And streaming wasn't going any better either.
"Sorry, I got distracted there. Where was I?" He asked his chat, wandering around his Minecraft world with Sap.
"You were.. getting food- Dream, are you ok? You've been really distracted lately." His friend asked him.
"Yeah, yea, I'm fine. My mind's just everywhere."
"Alright." Sap said, but he had stopped moving. A few seconds later, Dream gets a notification on his phone from Sapnap.
>If there's ever anything bothering you, you can tell me. Y'know that right?
<I know :) just gimme a sec
Dream started cooking the food. "Alright! I'm not gonna be doing much else for the server, so I'ma go ahead and end the stream. Thank you all for coming!" He continued to thank those before they left, and when there were only a few left in the stream, he ended it.
"So... what's been bugging you?"
Dream sighed. "I don't know how to explain this. Sap- have you ever... been in contact with someone that- that-" Dream sighed again.
"Take your time, man, there's no rush. I just wanna know if there's something bothering you that I might be able to help with." Dream started chuckling.
"What's so funny?"
"Sap, I don't think you'd be able to help with this one."
"You'd be surprised."
Dream snorted. "Alright, fine. I've had contact with a dead man, including something else that lives in this house undetected and it's bothering me that neither of them have shown up in a week and a half. Suffice?"
There was silence, then he heard Sap trying to hold back laughter. He sighed.
"Sap-"
"Dream, that is wack! Haha! Alright alright, that was hilarious, but what's the real reason?"
He couldn't believe it. He had just spilled his guts to his best friend, tried to be completely serious about it, and still got laughed at.
The silence, after a while, was confusing Sapnap. Why wasn't Dream talking to him? Was there something against him?
Had he said something earlier?
"Sap- I was being serious.."
A pause.
"...what?"
"I was being completely serious when I said all that. There's a dead person living in my house, along with something else, and I haven't heard from him in a week and a half."
"Well- but- why- how do you know it's a guy?"
"I, uh, he wrote wrote his name on a piece of paper. His name's George."
"How do you know he's not lying to you?"
"Um.. well, it's kind of hard to believe that it has ill intentions when it's been nothing but nice in both interactions. He braided my hair, the first time, and the second time I was in the kitchen; I had gone upstairs to grab the paper and pencil. He had taken my sandwich and placed it on a plate on the table."
