It was a bright sunny Saturday in San Francisco, California. Aeri did her usual routine on a weekend, jogging around town, picking up some breakfast in her favourite café, and going back home to shower.
She checked her phone after getting dressed and saw one notification from her best friend.
'Hey, girl! Lets take a walk on the Golden Gate Bridge after lunch.'
'Sure.' She replied in a heartbeat.
She still have four hours before she have to leave and meet up with Cecil; she used that time to clean up her place as best as she could, her speaker blasting some energetic music as she danced with the beat while doing her chores.
While dusting in her storage room, she saw her art supplies and an idea popped into her mind then, an itch to paint overcame her.
She finished cleaning up and took her painting supplies to her room and put them on her long desk by the window. Deciding that shell find an inspiration to paint on her walk with Cecil.
Dressed for their walk, she grabbed her phone and slim wallet before heading out the door. Cecil waved at her from her car with a big smile on her face.
"Looking gorgeous, my loves!" Cecil exclaimed and playfully looked her up and down as got in.
"Oh, you know it, baby!" Aeri answered back as she put on the seatbelt, both bursting into laughter.
" Lets get it on!" Cecil shouted excitedly, blasting some loud and fun music.
They drove to Golden Gate Bridge while jamming with the music and laughing together at their craziness.
Cecil parked her car before they went together and did their walk. They took some pictures and had a fun walk.
There was a picture of the bridge she absolutely adored.
This is it. She thought, deciding she would be painting it.
Cecil dropped her off with a flying kiss after they grabbed some snacks. Aeri went straight to her room and set her supplies to her liking before she started to paint.
She pulled up the picture of her inspiration as her guide, though she still remembers the details itself.
Instead of painting the bright sky, she went ahead and decided on it being nighttime. Hours passed as she dedicated herself to the painting, paying attention to the stroked of the brush, the details of the bridge, and her back.
Once she was done, she assessed her work.
It was of her leaning on the bridge, facing the night sky, some strands of her hair carried with the wind. Her face peaked a little from the angle of the painting and the bridge was highlighted well.
I've done well. She pepped herself, satisfied with the art shed done.
She checked the time, realizing that it was well past midnight. She felt tired but still didn't feel like sleeping.
Her coat caught her attention and she navigated to it without thinking. Slipping it on, she grabbed her car keys and drove back towards the bridge.
After parking, she walked to the middle part of the bridge. It was already past 2 in the morning, the place is no longer as packed as it was earlier in the afternoon.
The place promoted peace and relaxed her mind. She stepped on the bottom railing and leaned forward staring down at the water.
A sudden commotion from the passing cars brought her attention back to the present and she glanced behind to see a car coming straight at her.
Panic gripped her and without realizing it, she tried to back away from her position and accidentally twisted her feet causing her to lose her footing, her balance failed, and she fell backwards.
The feeling of falling engulfed her entire being for a moment before the pain from hitting her body in the water broke in.
Her body went deeper into the water as her consciousness started to leave her.
Death, who would have thought it could happen this fast and yet the moment stays forever
