As the light of the moon shon against the windows of the houses on Farquhar Road, a girl who looked the age of ten or eleven could be seen staring curiously outside from her windowsill at number 50. This ordinary home housed a very extraordinary girl but she didn't know this yet.

The moonlight was streaming through Autumn's window, flooding her desk in an odd mystical glowing light her bed, unmade was cast in darkness. This light had made her transfixed so she pulled on her slippers and padded across her room to the window. She stared outside at the road bathed in the light from the lamppost just outside her house. She didn't see anything out of the ordinary but she could feel something was there.

Ignoring this sign she slid into bed and tried to go to sleep. She had been trying to get to a sleep for a while, however she was too excited about the day ahead of her, for it's not every day a young girl turns eleven.

At some point she must have drifted to sleep because she was woken by Jack, her younger brother, jumping on her giggling. "Wake up sissy" he said bouncing on her. "Hey Jack in a box" Autumn said grinning and sweeping his light blond hair out of his doe-like ocean blue eyes. Jack was significantly younger than Autumn at only six years old so she'd always felt a duty to protect her youngest sibling more than her sister Gabby who was two years older.

Autumn grabbed her dressing gown and tied it around her waist, held Jacks hand and directed him downstairs.

Gabby was reading a book cross legged with her headphones around her neck but looked up at Autumn as she entered the room and put her book down. Her mousy brown hair was framing her face "Happy birthday Auttie" she said smiling up at her with her crooked grin her sky blue eyes shining brightly at her sister. "Thanks" Autumn smiled back at her in return sitting down next to her. Jack ran back out the room. Gabby picked her book back up and found her place. Autumn knew this meant the conversation was over and instead directed her attention to the presents on the coffee table.

A few minutes had passed when Adam and Jenny, their parents came in. Jenny was carrying Jack her, platinum blond hair tied behind her head, her dark blue eyes lovingly viewing the scene around her. Adam was carrying breakfast waffles his chiselled face smiling with the same joy as his wife reflected. They sang happy birthday to Autumn as they entered and her heart swelled with happiness and love as they did.

When they were done Autumn rushed forwards to hug them her white blond hair following her closely and Gabby was forced to put down her book to watch her sister get presents.

Once all the boxes had been opened and paper lay all over the floor Autumn had gone back upstairs to get dressed as they were going bowling with two of her friends for her birthday. She pulled on a pretty red dress and her favourite furry boots when she heard the doorbell ring. She glanced at the clock "they can't possibly be here yet" she thought worried as it had only just turned 10:00am they weren't due for at least an hour. She hurriedly plaited her long hair adding a red satin ribbon to the end matching her dress and looked deeply into her bedroom mirror her light blue eyes, the only similarity she shared with her sister, staring joyfully at her reflection, where her soft features smiled back.

Meanwhile in the hall, Gabby had been forced to answer the door she was the only one who had thought to get dressed earlier. She meandered to the door and opened it to reveal a lady, probably in her early seventy's she guessed, she didn't recognise wearing a very bizarre outfit of a long robe and a pointed hat, one you might come across on Halloween, standing outside clutching a letter in her hands a look of importance in her kind, wise eyes.
