God has given you one face, you make yourself another.
Ashley's POV
"Till we meet again in the next class." Miss Brooke waves to the class before leaving.
I'm relieved. Ha!, thought we would act the play but it turns out we didn't. Heaven knows I was so nervous. According to Miss Brooke, the play would be on hold for now till further info is given out. Most of the students were disappointed at this whilst others- like me, like me- were relieved.
"So are you going to tell me what's exactly going on with you?" Cam asks as we head for the Cafeteria. Exactly!, I'm going to have lunch today, no hiding. I'll have to face my fears one way or another and what better moment is it than now? Can't afford to starve myself today too, so I'm having lunch today.
"Nothing," I answer her.
She cocks her head to the side as she looks at me from head to toe. "There! She's doing it again. Lying. Am I even your friend at all?"
"Of course! You are. Why would you ask me that?"
"I highly doubt, because off-late you don't act like we are. Always hiding things from me."
Okay, so this is getting complicated.
"I want to tell you..." I start but she cuts me off.
"Yet you aren't doing so."
"That's because it's not as easy for me to say."
"So are you telling me it's easier to hide it from me? Wow!!" She shakes her head.
"Cam!"
"No, it's okay I get it. Don't..." she looks me dead in the eye, "talk to me unless you're ready to tell me what's happening in your life." With that she brushes past me, leaving me standing there by myself mouth hung open at her words.
She's never acted this way before.
Throughout lunch, she ignores me. And weirdly, Grayson didn't come to the cafeteria. Pierson and Cole did yet he didn't. I wonder where he is right now. I wanted to ask Pierson yet I couldn't utter a word.
Immediately school closes Cam rushes out without waiting for me. I quickly put my books in my bag and rushed to follow her. I walked out of class only to see that she was nowhere in sight, so I rushed to where I remembered her parking her car. And there she was right beside her car.
"Cam!" I say once I get closer.
"What?!" She snaps.
Okay! So now it's time for the bomb. So help me, universe. I'm telling her everything, it's now or never.
"Grayson and I nearly kissed." I blurt out, and once these words hit her hearing senses she halts immediately, taking her time to process it.
She then watches me, a smile at the corner of her lips. "Wait! What did you j-u-s-t say?"
I sigh, "That Grayson and I almost kissed."
"Omg! Omg! OOOOh my Gosh! Tell me you're not kidding?" She literally starts shaking my shoulders.
"I'm not." I roll my eyes at her drama. Drama queen!
"Yaaaaaaay!!" She squeals so loudly that students start to look in our direction, gazing at her like she's crazy. She realizes it yet doesn't give a heck as she continues to scream and squeal in excitement.
"I can NOT believe this. Jeez! I'm driving you home today." She drags me to the passenger side of the car and she opens it. "Hop in." She demands.
"What about Lucas?" I question.
