Riddle woke to the feeling of warm arms embracing him and the sound of a heartbeat in his ear. He hummed softly and snuggled deeper into the warmth, holding tighter to whatever was in his arms. It felt like a pillow...

Suddenly something brushed across the underside of his nose and he flinched, letting out a tiny sneeze that startled him awake. He groaned and rubbed his nose to get rid of the tickle, before trying to sit up. Panic started to fill him when he realised that he couldn't... He was stuck. He glanced up to see what was holding him, and his panic drained away when he saw Y/N's peaceful face. Her lips were still parted the slightest bit, her breathing slow and steady as her chest rose and fell in time with her breath.

Riddle smiled and squirmed in Y/N's arms until he was no longer resting on her chest. He smiled at her sleepy expression and gently stroked the side of her face, beaming when she raised one hand to cup his, gently brushing it with her nose. And he felt as though his heart was about to burst when he heard a purr rumbling in her nose, tickling the edge of his skin.

"The things you do to me, Y/N," Riddle whispered, leaning down and kissing her forehead.

But, sadly, they couldn't stay in bed the whole day, so he gently nudged Y/N. "Y/N," he whispered, brushing his nose against her cheek. "We have to wake up now, darling." The word slipped through his lips before he could catch it, or realise that he had even said it. It simply felt so natural falling from his lips when it was directed towards Y/N.

Y/N let out a low groan and rolled over, pulling Riddle closer to her and snuggling into him. Riddle froze when he felt her legs intertwining with his, her face finding a home in his chest. It felt so right... but he sighed and gently pushed her away, trying to wake her up.

"Y/N," he whispered again. "You have to get up."

Y/N's eyes finally fluttered open, and she yawned, rolling onto her back and rubbing her eyes with her wrist.

"Riddle," she asked, her voice still thick and drowsy. Riddle shivered at the sound. "What time is it?"

Riddle giggled and pulled himself up. He glanced over at the clock. "Seven," he said. "Classes start in a few hours and you have to make sure to get breakfast before you go to class."

Y/N let out an irritated mewl and rolled over, stuffing her face into Riddle's pillow. "I don't usually wake up until eight~ Or later..."

"Y/N," Riddle cooed, poking her in the back. "You have to get up now."

"No~" Y/N whined, swatting at Riddle as if he were a pestering fly. "I wanna stay in bed~"

Riddle smirked and leaned over to Y/N, whispering in her ear. In a second, she shot up and was scrambling out from underneath the covers, sprinting over to the bathroom to get ready for the day. Riddle chuckled as he watched and slid out from beneath the covers. He knew that the promise of hot chocolate would get her out of bed.

Half an hour later, Y/N was walking out of the Heartslabyul castle with one of Riddle's travel mugs in her hands, inhaling the scent of her hot chocolate with a blissful look on her face. Riddle couldn't help but smile at the way that her tail swayed contentedly from side to side, her nose scrunching up cutely as she drank the warm beverage. With the end of term coming so soon, which would be followed by the winter break, even the warmer dorms were starting to feel the shift in temperatures.

But suddenly, the blissful mood was ruined when a shout echoed around the courtyard.

"WHAT IS SHE DOING HERE?"

Riddle and Y/N turned and frowned when they saw Ace and Deuce stalking over, the orange-haired boy with a murderous glare on his face. Y/N let out a tiny squeak and ducked behind Riddle, crouching a bit to try and hide her taller form behind him.
