The Donor

Camila pov: I called a couple of sperm banks and I finally picked one called, A Blessing from Another. They told me the cost would be $1,000. I'm kinda nervous, I'm about to go through this whole experience by myself for the most part. I know Candice got my back, but my family I don't know about.

Candice: (walking in her office)hey girl, you want some of this cake?

Camila: what kind is it?

Candice: lemon pound cake

Camila: ooh yeah give me a piece

Candice: what you searching up?( cutting the cake)

Camila: sperm banks

Candice: you're gonna go through with it ?

Camila:(nods) I called one and they said it costs $1000 for the sample and the insemination together. I have to have $500 upfront at my first appointment

Candices you nervous? this a big thing

Camila: a little bit, you know I've wanted a baby for so long. I'm not getting any younger . I don't want to wait any longer

Candice: understandable, if you need me to go with you or anything just let me know (handing her the cake )

Camila:thank you. You think it's gone work?

Candice: I mean why wouldn't it? Are you fertile ?

Camila:yeah I've been checked out and everything is perfect

Candice: then of course it's gone work

Camila: I hope so, I just wanna have a baby and give it the world

Candice:(smiles) you're gonna be an amazing mama

A few weeks later:

(Quincy enters the sperm bank and walks up to the front desk)

Secretary: hello, how I help you?

Quincy: I would like to sign up to be a donor

Secretary: alright, just fill out these forms for me( gathering the paperwork) is this your first time at this facility ?

Quincy: first time being a donor in general

Secretary: oh wonderful(handing him the paper) once you finish filling out everything bring it back up. Today has been very fast, so I can get you seen by one of our physicians

Quincy: okay thank you

Quincy pov: I grabbed the forms and went to have a seat.I filled out everything and double checked it before turning them back in. I had to wait about 15 minutes and then a nurse came and got me and took me to a back room.

Nurse: the physician will be in soon

Quincy: okay

(They nurse leaves out and the doctor walks in)

Dr. Brand: hello I'm Dr. Brand, how are you today?

Quincy: I'm good how are you?

Dr. Brand: I'm wonderful, I see that this is your first time being a donor . What made you decide on it?

Quincy: I just got laid off from work and I could use the money. Plus I like helping people and I'm sure it's women that could benefit from it

Dr. Brand: here at this facility we have the option of known and unknown donations. If you wish to have contact with the recipient if they become pregnant, we can notify you as long as they agree to it, or you can remain anonymous. You don't have to choose now just think about it

Quincy: okay

Quincy pov: the doctor asked me a whole lot of questions about my health, my hobbies, what did I do for a living and stuff like that. After that I had to go give a sample for them to test so they could make sure I had no diseases and that my sperm was healthy. It was kinda weird at first but halfway into it I relaxed. I really do hope a woman can benefit from it. They said they would call me in 3 days and let me know if I can be a donor once my results come back.
