Sometimes I wondered if I was the only one who thought about what the world would look like if we couldn't see colors. Or if they simply didn't exist. Everything would be gray and light and shadow. And so many things would lose their meaning.

We as humans always loved to put significance into the simplest things and prescribe a universal definition that everyone knew and associated with. Sometimes multiple connotations existed, but we always chose to embrace the better one.

For many, green was the color of hope and life. After all, chlorophyll was the component of all plants keeping us alive. But as much as it was hope, it was also the color of envy and greed. In the same way white was purity, but so void that it could measure solitude.

Just like the dress that flowed perfectly straight down the curves of my body and formed a pool at my feet.

Don't get me wrong, the dress was beautiful and fit like a second skin because it was tailored. Being snug on my torso all the way down to my thighs, it fanned out to the floor. A long tail accompanied me wherever I went.

I clasped my hands in front of my stomach and stared at my reflection in the mirror. Light makeup enhanced the elegance of my wedding dress and my brown hair framed my face behind my shoulders in a half up half down hairstyle.

Lace sheathed my arms down to my fingers and I could see the movement of my chest with each breath behind the sweetheart neckline. I was not nervous, but serenity and composure had not visited me today.

The woman curling the last strands of hair that had fallen out after tons of hairspray had already dedicated an hour to her work. And after she was satisfied with her masterpiece plus got my approval, she packed up her stuff and left.

Sophia had run off to get me a glass of orange juice before the ceremony because she felt I needed vitamins. I hadn't felt like eating anything substantial this morning and had to hurry to the venue on time anyway.

My grandparents couldn't make it from Japan because my grandfather's back had gotten worse and he now had to do regular rehab sports. A flight of over ten hours on a plane would have only made his pain worse, which I understood.

Sophia came back with a glass and practically forced me to take at least two sips of it, even though I had repeatedly told her I didn't like the sour taste in my mouth afterward.

She fixed the veil on my head right when there was a knock at the door. Raiden stuck his head in, a big smile finding his lips the moment he saw me. I called him inside and before he closed the door, my father trailed a few steps behind.

"You look beautiful, Rev," Raiden told me and I extended my hand in his direction which he took.

"Thank you, Rai." I appreciated his compliment and his bright eyes even more.
