''What is taking so long '' mother Gu complained '' such an incompetent daughter in law we are starving '' , they had been waiting for the food for a while now and their stomachs were growling , father Gu and Henry Gu were seated along with mother Gu .
'' Aunty Gu , Uncle Gu , brother Henry the food is here '' Sophia Shen said with a squeaky voice , she came in carrying some of the dishes in a tray and she placed them on top of the black marble dinner table . Sophia Shen was short and cute with long blonde hair in a pigtail style , she had long bangs pushed to the side making her big bright hazel eyes shine , she sat opposite Henry Gu. They was no denying that Sophia Shen was a beautiful girl , dressed in her knee length navy blue floral dress.
'clack' 'clack' Everyone looked were the sound was coming from , it was Aurora Yu , Henry Gu's fiancee , if you thought Sophia Shen was beautiful next to Aurora Yu she looked very average . Indeed Aurora Yu was a beauty of beauties she had long wavy dark brown hair and deep blue eyes , the on her mole on the cheek stood out the most . She came in smiling while the clacking sound of her high heels could be heard , she was carrying a tray of dishes just like Sophia was and distributed them around the table .
''Mother , Father sorry for keeping you waiting you can dig in '' Aurora said taking a seating next to Henry , ''sorry honey have some fish stew '' Aurora picked up some fish stew and placed it in Henry's food , he smiled at the kind gesture and ate it up , Henry couldn't help but puke out the dish after tasting it , not only him but everyone else puked out the dish ''Aurora didn't you say you would improve what is this are you trying to kill us'' mother Gu complained.
''Um mother I did followed the recipe but its hard'' Aurora said pouting her lips, ''Aurora try Sophia's stew beef compare it to yours dish'' mother Gu said, saying that every one placed they chop sticks to taste the beef stew prepared by Sophia. it was warm , crispy and the meat was soo soft , tender compared to Aurora's dish , it was like black and white two entirely different things.
''My dear Sophia if you were my son's future wife I would sleep peaceful unlike someone who only has a pretty face and only thinks of seducing other man, I can not even get a wink of sleep'' said mother Gu complimenting Sophia stayed silent, blushing at mother Gu's words ''MOTHER how can you say that about me?'' Aurora shouted out aggrieved '' SHUT UP Aurora I told you one too many times, give up and stop playing famous and become a normal house wife, how can you take care of a family if you are going to be dancing half nude in the screen let, Henry make money and you take car of the family'' Aurora looked at Henry to support her but he only kept quiet looking at his meal. Aroura was so pissed and she stood and said '' mom I am sorry if I can't be your dream daughter-in-law but as long as Henry loves me I am okay and he doesn't mind my career and I don't dance half naked that's fashion and it's what makes the world go round without it the world would be flat '' with that Aroura stormed out .
The room was silent for a while after Aurora left, ''well Henry you see she is a bad influence to you leave her and marry Sophia instead ''STOP it Abigail Gu, Aurora Yu is a nice girl her an Henry love each other and her family has connections so stop tying to break them apart'' father Gu stopped mother Gu half way when she was still speaking ''dinner is over you can leave if you want to and Henry go and comfort Aurora, and after this I hope you Abigail Gu won't be trying to break them apart'' father Gu said before he left for his room.
Henry did as his father asked and left to console Aurora, in the dinner room Sophia's face was dark 'must uncle Gu mention the status difference between her and aurora, yes her mother is a maid of this household but he didn't have to embarrass her like that' noticing Sophia's facial expressions, mother Gu tied to comfort her ''don't worry he is just an old man after money trying to ruin our family traditions don't worry in my eyes your my one and only daughter-in-law saying that did cheer her up in mother Gu's eyes at least she was recognised.
Outside Aurora was at the furthest part of the estate at the shed, her eyes were soaking wet with tears, it wasn't because of mother Gu's harsh words at this rate she was used at her complaining and comparing her with Sophia, she had known this woman for 11 years when she started dating, Henry Gu but in these 11 years had passed not once had he defended her from his mother's criticism, she was tired, she knew that Sophia had improper thoughts about Henry but he never distanced himself from her nor cut her of but he wanted her to cut off any guy who had improper thoughts about her this was not fair .
When Henry came out to see Aurora , she was talking to her self the scene made her look crazy, ''Aurora I am sorry if she hurt your feelings'' henry said ''how long are you going to be saying sorry Henry its been 11years '' Aurora said with tears filled in her eyes.
