Tewkesbury's pov

"I've thought about it." I told Victor. He dropped his fork and looked at me. "You serious?" He said. "Pardon?" I said.
"Boys. No arguments here. We're eating." My mother said. "We're not arguing mom." Victor said. "We aren't." I said, looking at her. My mother looked at me, and took her napkin. She then began to randomly fold it and cleaned herself with it. "Listen, Tewkesbury. You came to visit us, and so I don't want you to be arguing with your little brother. Or talk about anything else that doesn't have to do with family." She said.
"Understood?" She added.
"Understood." I said.
"You're no longer little boys."
I looked at victor, and he smiled. He mouthed,
"We're talking later "
He then rolled his eyes.
Did I forget to mention this kids 14?
————————————————-
"Victor?! Did you forget I'm your older brother?" I said laughing. "You have to respect me." I added. We were walking down through the hallway after dinner. "No. But you should start acting like you're my older brother? You act like I'm older than you? Allowing mom to think we were about to argue too. How excellent."
"Oh be quiet." I said.
"Well now tell me. What are your feelings about y/n." He said.
We were walking past windows now. And all you could see was the moon. Victor then pinched my shoulder.
"Ow?!!!!" I turned to look back at him. "What's the matter with you?! You child?" I said.
"Quit looking at the window and acting like a fool. How are you currently feeling about y/n?"
He said.
"I don't think I have feelings for y/n." I told Victor. He looked at me for a second. With a face of disbelief.
"Okay Tewkesbury what is actually fucking wrong with you?"
"Language."
"Oh shut the fuck up for a second please. Are you dead ass fucking serious? You do not have feelings for y/n?"
"Well...I think so."
"Tewkesbury."
We both had stopped talking by this point.
"Please you can't be serious."
I took a deep breath, and looked at him.
"I'm not. I think. I mean. Listen. I'm not allowed to have feelings for anyone except one person."
"And that person being y/n?"
"No."
"Enola?"
"Gross she's like my sister?"
"Oh wow and what am I to you? a idiot I suppose?"
"Correct a idiot."
He rolled his eyes.
"Then who?"
"Mom hasn't told you hasn't she?"
"What are you talking about."
I looked down at the floor trying to avoid eye contact.
"What?!!!" He yelled.
"Mom arranged me to I guess marry someone. I'm the number 1 candidate."
"Are you saying that because it was on the newspaper?"
"No my mom told me herself that the girls family thinks I'm the right one for their daughter. And so does my mom apparently. And so she's arranging me to marry that girl."
"That's rubbish?"
"That's what I said?! It's against my will."
"Pretty sure mom hasn't told you yet. But she's hosting a ballroom event. That's where I'm supposed to meet her. And so far I've sort of acted cold towards y/n."
"What."
"Yeah. I've tried to be serious. I've made stuff up for that reason being."
"I'm also supposed to settle down with the girl once we move towns." I added.
"So she's from where we're moving to?"
"I guess." I said.
Victor remained quiet.
"Have you told y/n? That we're moving?"
"No. Not at all."
"Is y/n invited?" Victor asked.
"I think so. Y/N's family is invited. So I'm sure y/n's included."
"Good."
"Why'd you ask?"
"Idiot. Y/N's going to be at that event too?! If
Y/N sees you with the girl. You're done for Tewkesbury."
I remained silent.
"So do you have feelings for y/n. Now tell me. Truly do-
"Yes."
He smiled.
"Well, when's the dance?"
"I believe the day before we're supposed to leave town."
"We have to stop mom from making you be with someone else?!"
"We can't. I've tried convincing her. With telling her that I am my own person. She won't listen."
Victor had an expression of a disappointed little boy.
"This is a mess."
"I'm aware." I said.
I didn't want to move. Nor did I want to marry someone who I have no connections with. Nor do I know. Nor have I met. And it being against my own will. It's horrible.
I feel hopeless.

Y/N's POV
"We've been invited to what?" You asked.
"To a ballroom..." Your mom said, she took the invitation out and handed it over to you.
"Marquess...of Basilwether?"  You said.
"Basilwether?" She said, and took it out of your hand. "Oh!!! How lovely."
"Tewkesbury." You thought.
You smiled and looked at her.
"It'll be fun," you said. She nodded. "Right."
