"Who the fuck is Ava?!" A woman screamed. She was looking at Kieran. They were in the living room, so I stared down the stairs, sneaking to the kitchen.
"Valarie, she is a family friend, nothing more." He said.
"Is she the other girl?!" I smiled at the chef.
"Well that's fun." I said, making her giggle.
"Who's Ava?" She asked me and I silently pointed to myself.
"I don't know why she's blowing up." She shrugged. "Could I get a bagel?" She nodded. I sat down at the bar, playing on my phone.
"You!" I turned to the girl. She was blonde, wearing a tube top over her a cup boobs, and jean booty shorts, with fluffy knee high boots. She had gold hoop earrings, and a gold necklace. If she was on a corner, I'd think she was a prostitute. Nothing wrong with that, it's an honest profession. She just looks like a prostitute.
"Can I help you?"
"Admit you fucked my man!"
"Well that's not true so... no." Kieran walked in but by then he was too late. She shoved me out of the chair, my head hitting the ground and leaving me dazed.
"Admit it!" She screeched, kicking me in the stomach. He pulled her off as the chef ran to my side. My ears were ringing, and my eyes wouldn't focus. But when my eyes did begin to focus, Kieran was next to me. He seemed worried.
"Are you okay?" He said, and I shook my head.
"My ears are ringing." I said.
"Did you hit your head?" I nodded, and suddenly he picked me up, taking me to the couch. As I laid there and tried to stop the ringing, a man can in that I didn't recognize.
"She's been removed from the property and the green list, sir." Kieran nodded. He turned his attention to me.
"Make sure she's barred from all of our properties." He was talking to him, but he was looking at me. The man nodded and left. "You feel any better?" I nodded.
"You're more talkative today." I said, and he looked down, nodding.
"My father told me before we came yesterday, that you'd be coming to stay while he's out of the country with your father."
"Okay?"
"I wasn't exactly happy about it." Now I was even more confused. "Most of the women I interact with are stuck up snobs, for lack of a better term."
"Are you saying I'm not, a stuck up snob?" He nodded with a soft smile. "How could you tell?"
"When you actually offered to help him put the food on the table." I smiled at him.
"What if I was a snob in disguise?"
"I'd know." He winked at me.
"Oh wow, you figured out I'm not a snob, and then you flirt with me? Wow okay!" I said, doing my best valley girl impression. "I'm going to have to call my bestie Rebecca, and talk to her about this!" He was laughing.
"Okay okay. I get it. How's your head?"
"Better, thank you."
"Your side? She kicked you pretty hard."
"That hurts." He nodded.
"I can get you some icy hot." That honestly sounds amazing right now.
"And an ibuprofen if you have it?"
"Of course." He walked away as the butler let in a rather scary looking guy. The guy looked over at me.
"Are you the girl she attacked?" I nodded slowly. "Where's the boss?"
"He went to get me some icy hot." His eyebrows shot up. "What?"
"He, went to get it?" I nodded and he seemed to rush in the direction of Kieran. Weird. A few minutes later, Kieran came back out and helped me put it on. I popped the ibuprofen, and sighed.
"I think I'm going to head to my room. See if daddy's landed yet."
"They landed 40 minutes ago."
"How do you know?"
"Oh, um... the pilot messages me when they take off and a projected arrival time, and then again when the plane lands." He said.
"The pilot?"
"Yeah personal pilot and we own the plane." I nodded, still confused. Like I knew they were loaded but I didn't realize they were LOADED.
"In that case I'm gonna call daddy." I said, getting up and almost immediately fell back onto the couch.
"Do you want my help?"
"I got it." I said. "Just gimme a second. Say, I've gotta ask you something. How come we've never met? Our dads are best buds, and I've been here dozens of times. Granted I haven't been here in roughly 8 months, but still." He hesitated before answering. "You don't have to answer."
"I'd rather not." He said gruffly. He'd closed himself off again.

Kieran

The real answer to her question was rough. My mother raised me, and my parents were divorced before they found out about me. She kept me, dad paid support, and that was that. I kept in touch with my father, had dinner with him over the years. But when my mother was shot and killed, I moved in with dad. It wasn't like I couldn't live on my own, I could. Just with being the son of a don, it's safer. Not that I care. This Ava girl, she's not like anyone I've ever met. Let alone any woman I'd ever met. And I wasn't sure if I wanted her knowing I was a mafia don. "Kieran?" I looked up at her.
"What?"
"You zoned out. I'm sorry. I didn't realize it was a sensitive subject." I shook my head.
"It's fine. Do you want to go to your room? It'll be more comfy than the couch." She nodded, and I helped her to her room. She smiled at me as she sat down in her bed.
"Ma'am, I thought you'd- Oh, sorry sir." A maid said, holding some things.
"It's okay." She said, before I could say anything. She met her with kindness. "What is it Amelia?" How did she know her name?
"Your things ma'am." The maid also seemed shocked that she'd remembered her name.
"Thank you dear. Just leave them by the door. And I can do my own laundry and such." The maid nodded, putting the things down. What was that?
"Is that everything ma'am?"
"I think so." The maid excused herself.
"Well if you need anything, just let me know." I said and she nodded. I walked out and downstairs. "Jamal."
"Sir."
"While she is here, move the ones downstairs, to another facility. Preferably without her knowledge. I understand that section of the basement is soundproofed, but I'd like to not take the chance."
"Sir?" Jamal was confused, which I didn't blame him. But you don't question my authority.
"She is my fathers pet. She doesn't know. I'd like to respect my fathers wishes there." He nodded.
"I'll let the men know." I nodded, and he went downstairs.
