THE LAST TWO and a half (ish) weeks had gone by in a blur for Martha and Felipe. There had been a lot for them to do like packing and figuring out what to do with their place in LA. Luckily, they didn't need to find somewhere to live in Salt Lake City — that was already fixed, which took a lot off of their plate.
They ended up not doing anything about their LA home. Well... kind of as they did let Marcus Armstrong (a friend of Felipe's who turned into Martha's friend as well) stay there while they were living in Salt Lake. It was a win-win situation for everyone; their apartment didn't stay empty for who knew how long it would be and Marcus had a place to crash.
It was a bittersweet feeling to move (temporarily, but still move), but four hours after Martha and Felipe had landed at the airport in Salt Lake City, they were somewhat settled into their new (interim) home away from home. It was by no means a big apartment, but it was perfect to be a temporary home for them with one bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen and a living room. They didn't need anything else.
"Tak," Martha said with a chuckle as she waved at her phone screen before she ended the FaceTime call with her uncle Kevin and (soon-to-be aunt) Louise.
