I heard my alarm in the distance. "Fuck why do I need to get up now." I thought. Slowly getting up from bed I looked at myself in the window. All I saw was a small girl with fluffed up hair. I put on Jean shorts and a light pink shirt. My reflection showed that I had messed up hair and then decided to make it into a small bun. Thinking what I sould eat I checked the time only to see that I was late. "What the-" I said in shock. I ran out of the house only to see that the bus was barely arriving. "What?" I looked at my watch only to see that it was November 5 of 1987. "It's daylight saving time" I thought. I walked into the bus to see Jamie sitting in the back. It was always nice to see her it made feel warm on the inside. Sitting next to them I said "Hey Jamie!". She looked at me with a smile planted on her face it was something nice to see. "Hey Amber how are you doing!" She said. "I'm fine I guess" I said. "Hey I wanted to ask you if you wanted to meet up after school."Jamie asked. "Oh! Sure I'd love to." I responded. She look happy it was nice to see her this way. Suddenly the bus stopped. I got up from the bus and wave goodbye to Jamie.
After school
When school was done for the day I started to look for Jamie. I found her sitting on a bench near the park. "Hey Jamie are we gonna go?"I asked. "Oh! yeah I almost forgot." She replied. She got up from the bench and asked "Where do you wanna go?". I thought about it for a while and the I thought of the dinner across the street. "Hey maybe we can go to the dinner across the street."I said. "Sure!" Jamie answered. We both crossed the street and entered the dinner. I went to the counter to order our food. The man told us to go sit down. We both sat down at a booth. After a few minutes of my talking with Jamie our food came. My food was a small bowl of rice with milk and Jamie ordered a vanilla milkshake. Once we finished our food the waiter came and picked up our food. I looked at the table and saw a small note. I picked it up and saw that he had given me his phone number. "Hey Jamie the waiter gave me his phone number." I said. Jamie looked full of dread on the inside. "Hey... is everything ok?" I asked. She looked at me with a bright smile on her face "Everything is fine." Jamie said. "Ok if you say so." I replied. Jamie payed for our food she said that she was ok with it. After paying I said goodbye to Jamie and went home.
