  The next morning, Nancy-Anne got the forehead thermometer and quietly knocked on her daughter's bedroom door before walking in.


  Nancy-Anne: Uniqua?

  Uniqua: Ughh...

  Nancy-Anne: Still not feeling too good, huh?

  Uniqua: It's like there's a bomb ready to blow up inside me.


  Nancy-Anne then scanned the thermometer on Uniqua's forehead until it beeped.


  Nancy-Anne: 42.3 degrees? That's higher than before!


  She promptly scooped Uniqua up and helped her get into her polka-dotted overalls before taking her downstairs.


  Nancy-Anne: Lauren, Uniqua's fever has gotten worse; we're taking her to Maggie, now!


  Soon, Nancy-Anne and Lauren were just outside of Pablo's house, Nancy-Anne still holding Uniqua in her arms. With a press of the doorbell, his mother answered.


  Maggie: Good morning. Is something wrong with Uniqua?

  Lauren: Exactly!

  Maggie: Bring her in, and let me have a look at her.


  After both concerned mothers entered the blue house, Nancy-Anne and Lauren followed Maggie into her study, where Nancy placed Uniqua down. Maggie then took out a miniature medical kit, took out the stethoscope, and started scanning it over Uniqua's stomach... which emitted a rumbling sound that left Maggie worried.


  Maggie: It looks like appendicitis; we'd better get her to the hospital, stat!


  With that, the three women got Uniqua to Maggie's car and headed off. Little did they know that Pablo, who was working in the garden, had heard everything from the open study window...
