Throughout childhood, Kyosun's family never stayed in one place for too long. Always moving somewhere new every 6 months or so.

He struggled to make friends due to that and his anxiety. Eventually, he gave up. From then on, he was a loner. Barely even spoke to his parents and teachers. His peers called him a freak. Getting bullied was such a common occurrence that he expected it every day. If it didn't happen, the rest of his day felt strange.

The only person he spoke to was his younger brother, In-Su.

In-Su was too little to understand what his older brother was going through but he would listen for hours on end if it made the older feel better. In-Su had seen the bigger boys and his brother at school. He'd seen the aftermath of what they had done to him, but he didn't do anything. He couldn't. He promised his brother he wouldn't because then they would both be hurt.

In-Su wasn't strong like his brother. He was too innocent for the world. His honey-kissed eyes always sparkled when he saw a butterfly, or a meadow filled with flowers. He didn't see the destruction that others brought on the world, but his older brother did. His brother swore to protect him from the world no matter what. In-Su was his bright light. His reason to live.

Until he was gone.

Stupid driver for driving while drunk.

Stupid ambulance who didn't get there fast enough.

Stupid court for not pressing charges.

Stupid Kyosun who wasn't there.

From then on, he hated the 27th of January.

He hated celebrating his birthday, knowing his brother could no longer celebrate his.

He hated Christmas because it was In-Su's favorite day of the year.

He hated walking home from school alone without the short bundle of joy by his side.

A boy who was always surrounded by the feeling, but never felt the feeling himself.

That was until he met happiness in human form.

A group of boys who, no matter what mood he was in, could always bring a smile to his face.

The day that he met happiness his life changed forever.
