"How can you even say that?" Keiisha said in disbelief, frowning her face. The clueless little girl had tears in her eyes even though she was trying to hide it. She felt betrayed by the fact that her own friends would spread rumours about her being a daughter of a mage.

"It's the truth! Then why did your father was taken away instead of killed the day the rebellion troupe invaded our town?!" One boy pointing out one finger towards Keiisha, leaving her with no words. She can't believe that her father was a mage that causes harm to people, no.. she refuses to believe in it.

"Just die, you monster."

The kids left Keiisha alone while murmuring. She can't believe in anyone, anything. Why did this happened to her? She thought to herself.

"You're a selfish person."

"Your father killed my family!

"You don't deserve to live."

"Die."

How can they even said that without feeling any guilt towards the little kid. Even if her father does work as a mage, does that give them the right to treat her like her worth doesn't matter? The little girl comforted herself in the dark. Everything will be fine. We can get through this. Keiisha patted her head trying to hold in the tears. It's cold in the alley. She's starving . She hasn't eaten anything for almost 4 days. She was a total outcast after the rumour of her father being a mage spread around. It's the hot topic amongst people in town. They've been treating her like she has no self-value lately.

Keiisha slowly stand up with her little feet, her small figure due to starvation is wobbly and she can't even walk properly. Her ripped old clothes, no shoes, her greasy hair. Her skinny legs are so fragile, it can't support her upper part. As the little girl was about to stumble down, someone ran to her, catching her small body. "Oh poor you." A woman voice said in a worried tone. Keiisha's vision starting to get blurry. All she know was the voice is very calming. It's like her mothers' even though she knew it is impossible to be her mother. She's long dead anyways.

Keiisha slowly starting to gain conscious. Her red eyes slowly opened. Trying to sit on the bed, she saw various type of food beside her. It is placed on the vanity. A loud creak was detected. Keiisha quickly hide herself in the blanket knowing it's useless to do so. "Please don't hurt me. I swear I know nothing about the mage and all this rebellion-" She sputtered. What she didn't know is that the person was already in front of her, shaking her head with a smile on her face. Her delicate hands slowly uncover Keiisha's face that was covered with the blanket. "Nice to meet you little one." Her enchanting voice caught Keiisha's attention. It is because of the similarity of the voice compared with her mothers'. She finally gains confidence to speak with the woman. "What's your name?" Keiisha asked.

"People call me Allistair Lysander, my dear. It is nice to meet you." She said elegantly. Her face seems so kind and warm, melting Keiisha's heart. She felt safe and comfortable with Allistair. She gave her some kind of motherly love and a warm vibe. 'I like her' Keiisha thought. It was a nice call. But how can someone as gorgeous as her is here? The place that looks like rat would crawling around. The spider webs, the old creaking floor. It doesn't look like where this noble-like lady would live. "I know you're wary of me." She said with a smile on her face. She sit down on the bed. Creaky sound fill the silence in the room. Keiisha tried scooting away since she can't particularly give 100% of her trust to this woman yet. Even if she has a nice voice. A nice face, a nice delicate personality. "Explain." Keiisha said, firmly.

"As you know, my name is Allistair Lysander. You can call me Allis or whatever you're comfortable with." It started with an introduction. A warm one. "I want to take you as my daughter." Allis said, with confidence. No stuttering. Only confidence. But it left Keiisha with loads of question. Question mark are written all over Keiisha's face. Her jaw dropped.

"You- you're joking! Who wants ME to be their daughter? No no I'm refusing." That came out of her mouth. That was not what Keiisha wanted to say but it is to dangerous to have a woman she just met taking her in. She thought. She wanted a family but she need to refuse the offer. "Why? Give it some time my dea—"

"I REFUSE"
Firmly said.

Allis tried convincing her multiple times. Different ways, different words. Days by days, Allis followed her everywhere in the alleys. Even if Keiisha's answer we're the same. It is either an assertive 'no' or 'I prefer living alone.' Sometimes Allis even thought of giving up.

"But this little girl caught her attention and I know something about Keiisha that nobody knew. Even her own family."
