There I saw you, just standing there, a stranger.

Even though my crush was your classmate, your friend, you were unknown to me. As I sat in the school corridor, in front of your class, you and my crush came towards me. I start talking to him and you tell me multiple times that he likes me. But I didn't believe you. How could I? I didn't even know your name.

At the end of the school year, our classmates and us had a water fight in the park. My class versus yours. Me versus you. We threw water at eachother with our bottles and when they were empty, we climbed on the edge of the fountain and filled them. Me and you were throwing water at eachother, but at one point, we made a deal to help eachother. When the fight ended, our clothes were all damp and we saw eachother for what I thought was going to be the last time that summer.

On the way home I thought about you and then and there I realized that I liked you and I didn't like your friend anymore. I got your snapchat and we started talking in the summer. Sometimes, when I went to the park with my friends, you were there, playing football with the other boys. You always said hello and you were always nice to me. In the beginning of July you went to the country and came back in August. You started coming to the park again but I started seeing you less and less every week. Then, the schooltrip came.

My and your classroom were coming along with two other classes. In that week you met another girl around your age and you two started talking. She always went to your room and talked to you. I still remember when you had to go rockclimbing but I didn't come because of my anemia and someone knocked on my door. I opened it and saw you, looking in my eyes. I asked you what you needed and you said you didn't have a hat so I gave you mine. You left, but not before giving me a smile. After you came back, I was playing badminton with my boy best friend and you came to us and asked if you could play with us. Those were the happiest days of my life. But that happiness didn't last for long.

When school started again, you and the girl from the trip were closer and always together in the school breaks. You started ignoring me and when I asked you why you always said that you didn't know. So I stopped trying.

Over a couple of months I tried forgetting you but I couldn't. Everytime I saw you I remembered all of our moments together but I realized that you had a girlfriend. So I had to let you go.

Now, I walk down the stairs and go in the schoolyard. And there I see you, just standing there, a stranger.
