(So here it is, my first poem to you. Please heed advice given.)
You may think it's rather boring,
That I yet again write you poems deep.
It may actually leave you snoring,
At least this way you'll get some sleep!
And perhaps you'll get in the good way,
Of finally snoozing at the close of the day.
Peacefully napping in purple bed,
Images of persevering Persi drifting through your head.
Instead of spending hours memorizing,
Grammar, phonology, syntax and what not.
In the dead of the night despising,
Double negatives, infinitives and all else you've been taught.
Only vampires thrive in the black,
Humans tend to prefer day.
Unless you're striving to hide the fact,
That you tend to sparkle in sun's ray!
(facepalm... i can't believe i actually referenced twilight...)
Your bed is warm,
Your bed is deep.
Be cozy in your dorm,
Fast asleep.
As the moon slowly traverses the skies,
Lazily driving the dazzling stars by.
Filling your dreams with their sweet lullabies,
The crickets content, chirp and cry.
And if you still end up turning and tossing,
Unable to catch those elusive zzz's.
Just your purple coconut be grabbing,
And we'll whatsapp the night away from our beds!
(Lol, now you know why i wanted to know how you pronounce the letter z. Coz when i read it, it doesn't rhyme!)
