"Mama please!" Her mom lifts her eyes off her work and looks at the child. The child runs closer and tugs at her mom's lab coat. Her tears stream down her face. As it drops down her cheeks, it freezes and crashes into the floor. The mother, who had continued looking into her microscope, didn't notice the child's appearance changing.
She pushes the child away from her, but shrieks as she feels something freezing touch her. She tears her eyes away from the microscope and looks at the child with disgust burdening her heart.
She walks closer to the girl and runs her hands through her hair. It's cold, but not freezing. The child's hair slowly whitens. The mother acts fast and plucks a strand of hair out of the child's head that hasn't fully bleached. She slides it under the microscope and inspects it. Her mouth falls open as she watches the hair bleach itself.
"It's astonishing. Tiny icy crystals are taking over the hair molecules. It's almost as if they are killing each and every melanin pigment in her hair." She scribbles into the notebook that lies next to her. It is filled with her experiment on Y/N and coffee stains. She looks at her daughter and sees how her skin becomes paler and paler at the second until finally, the girl collapses.
She jumps out of her seat and picks the girl up in her arms. "Get the cryo tanks ready!" She shouts down the halls. Other scientists react act her order. They lower the temperature of the tank to the liquid inside almost freezing. They throw the girl into the tank hastily. The scientists cover their eyes as bright light beams from the liquid. The light subsides and the daughter's mother walks toward it. She analyzes the changes in the girl. Her skin had gotten back some color, but her natural hair had bleached itself. Even her eyebrows had changed. Her hands are covered in ice and the skin connected to the hands seems to have the same color that skin gets when exposed to too much cold. Her hands seem to actually get a bit of frostbite.
"Doctor Hughes, what are we going to do with her, you know that she can't remain in this her entire life!"
"She'll remain in this until we figure out how we can actually get that ice under control, now if you would excuse me, I have a bit of her ice at my table that needs further investigation." The lead scientist struts back to her table. She glances at the spot her daughter collapsed. A thin layer of ice stretches across the floor.
A Week Later
The doctor places her hand on the tank. Cold pierces through her arm, but she persists. Her eyes dart to the thermometer strung up next to the tank, it's between -24 and -26 °C. The other doctors walk up to Lillian, "Doctor Hughes, she can't take much more of this, we both know that a human body can only take up to negative thirty degrees celsius."
"We will carry on, she will endure!" Lillian turns around to face the doctor. Her eyes are barely open and she seems as if she is in a zombie-like state. She's been up all night.
"She won't, it's inhuman. She's your daughter, Lillian!"
Her eyes lock onto Doctor Flitzer, her assistant, "What we both know- is that death usually occurs due to irregular heartbeat or respiratory arrest when in extreme cold. Does her stats look irregular to you?" She points to the mechanical ventilator and the bpm monitor, "Keep your empathetic bullshit out of this. She might be my daughter, but now she's no more than a breakthrough! You know what, I need someone more competent than you! You're fired, go work for Simon in the basement or something!"
He scoffs at her and throws all of the paperwork, that he was carrying, tumbling to the floor. She sighs and bends down to pick it up. As she sorts through the papers she hears a sound from the tank. She turns to see her ten-year-old daughter cluttered with tubes. She sees the girl's eye twitch. After that, her hand flinches. The woman's biggest fear comes to life. The girl is waking up.
She runs to the cabinet and gets high doses of liquid anesthesia. She grabs the tube that treads into the tank which supplies her with food. She empties the needle into the tank as she watches the restless test subject calm down. Her heartbeat slows down as she seems to dose off again.
Lillian grabs one of the papers laying at her feet and scribbles an important finding.
Keep supplying Y/N with enough Intravenous agents to make sure she does not wake up and ruin the project. Injecting her to intravenous agents, that lack opioids, instead of Amobarbital, Methohexital or Thiamylal will decrease the chances of being dependent on them in the future, tremendously.
She walks back to her personal quarters and turns on her camera, "Log number seven..."

Y/N's POV:My eyes slowly open as I wake up. I adjust it to some light that beams into my eyes. I look around me, I appear to be contained in something unfamiliar, in some liquid. My eyes spot white hair flowing by. I try catching it until I notice that it is my own hair. I giggle a bit. I've always wanted to be blonde, but this is a bit excessive. My chest starts filling up with excruciating pain. I could feel how the oxygen to my lungs suddenly stopped. I touch my mouth. A tube startles me. The choking sensation does not ease away. I could feel myself losing a bit of consciousness with every second that passes. Wow, what a shitty way to wake up from being asleep! As I start panicking I think of the easiest solution. I tug at the tube, I could feel how some of the pain starts dwindling so I yank the entire thing out. I caress my throat as the pain finally eases away. Now to get out of this tank. I look up and see a small hatch. I swim upward and creak the thing open.
"Damn, it feels like this thing hasn't been opened for a while now." I push the hatch open and emerge from the liquid.
My celebratory spirit is cut short as I hear a robotic voice echo behind me, "So this is what Hydra keeps locked away even from their most loyal subjects."
