From MY past to OUR Future

Cecilia pov:

Here I am standing in front of Volkov enterprise at 10 in the morning. Cole told me to apply to this company since he knows the CEO.

After arriving, I go straight to the reception to ask where is the interviewing room.

"Excuse me, can you please tell me where the interviewing room is?"

" what is your name miss," she asks

"Cecilia Rose Evans" I reply.

"Ok dear, take the lift and go to the 3rd floor," she tells me.

I tell her a small thank you and leave.

I reach the 3rd floor and ask the security guard to tell me where the room is.

He says "go left"

I go left and find a huge door that leads to the room.

I go inside.

I look up and find my one and only bestie STEPHEN.FREAKING.CARLOS.SPENCER.

I feel my jaws drop as I see him.

"Dude. the fuck you doin' here??"

"Interviewing people for the managing director position" he shortly replies.

" damnn. My bestie is doing big jobs" I try to tease him.

"Shut up" he yells feeling embarrassed

"Sowwy. Now can we get some work done" I say in a baby voice.

An hour or two later, we were done with the interview.

I told goodbye to Stephen and went down.

As I was walking towards the exit I could see dusk peaking through the fluffy clouds.

I sigh and walk to my car.

After I come back home I take a warm shower and do my night routine.

I go to my kitchen and grab a bottle of water and decide not to have dinner.

I lay down on my queen-sized bed and think about life for a while.

Slowly slumber engulfs me and I drift off to dreamland.

Stephen pov:

After finishing the interview I bid Cecilia goodbye and go to see what my boss is doing.

I knock on the large ebony door with the huge name "Mattheo Volkov sanders" written on it.

Shortly I hear a faint "come in"

I walk inside.

"Good evening sir"

"How was the interview?" he asks.

"It went great and I accepted her as the managing director" I reply.

"Good. can you hand me her resume?" I ask in a deadly deep voice

I hand it to him.

When he sees the name and picture he looks surprised.

Mattheo pov:

As I was driving home I couldn't stop thinking about Cecilia. She was a friend of mine in high school, in other words, my enemy. I just couldn't stop thinking of ways how to bully her and play my old tricks and games on her.

"You're going to suffer again my friend," I say before speeding up and driving to my mansion.

End of pov.

The next day Cecilia goes to the company since she had a presentation to present on marketing to the CEO.

Cecilia pov:

As I walk towards the company entrance I repeat the memorized lines I need to tell the CEO.

I enter the elevator alone and press on the 5 floors.

After I walk out of the elevator I go straight to the auditorium.

There was no one there except some employees.

I take a seat near the door.

I wait for almost 15 minutes.

I was about to doze off since I hadn't gotten enough sleep the other day but I hear the door slam open.

I stand up and turn back only to find the one and only MATTHEO VOLKOV SANDERS. the biggest asshole I ever met. I instantly recognize him. I make eye contact with him for a millisecond when Stephen clears his throat.

To be honest, he changed a lot.

As he took a seat I prepared my presentation with a lot of hesitation.

Mattheo pov:

As I walked in I looked up to only find the one and only Cecilia rose Evans. She changed a lot since the last time I saw her. I barely recognized her.

After making eye contact with her, she prepares her presentation and I could see the hesitation in her eyes.

"Could you please start the presentation already? i don't have all day for you" I tell her

She instantly starts the presentation.

End of pov.

After Cecilia was finished, Mattheo was very surprised because she had many points on how to improve the marketing of the company that even Mattheo couldn't think of. Even Though he was surprised, Mattheo still made a snide comment about it which leaves Cecilia hurt but she doesn't show it because she knew that the old games were about to start again.

Cecilia pov:

After I was done I hear Mattheo say something.

"What is she doing, does she not understand the marketing schemes of the company?"

I felt hurt by that as I stayed up most of the night to finish this.

As I was leaving the mattheo brushes past me and tells me that I'm the new managing director.

I was very happy when I heard him say it but I was still mad at him.

Stephen pov

To be honest, I was really surprised by how good the presentation was. I already knew she would be good as she was the topper in school. she was good at everything. Cecilia was amazing today. as she was doing the presentation I hear Mattheo say something under his breath by which Cecilia looked hurt. when she was done I walked up to her and told her how good it was.

"It was good lia." I complimented.

"Thanks" she replied shortly and left.

She probably was very hurt by mattheo.

They both were enemies back in high school. I was friends with him. I don't really know how lia and I became best friends even after she knew I was mattheo's friend.

Guess some things just don't ever change.

I breathed a long yet gentle sigh and left the company thinking about how the games are about to start again and went home to my wife heather who probably was blazing in fury by now.

Some things just don't change, as for Cecilia and Mattheo, it's the same as it was in high school...
