Soul Awakening

Chapter 8 "Vanish"

-Tsubaki: Unsure of how much time has passed, I lift my head, I must've passed out after being thrown in the dungeon. Of all the realms to land in I had to land here. I sigh and then jolt to the sound of a loud bang at my cage bars, I squint, it's so dark I can barely even see my hands being chained to the wall. I look around and just as expected I see nothing but a faint light from the tiny keyhole down a long corridor, I'm guessing that is the entrance to this place, I try to come up with a plan, then it hits me. "Blackstar..!" I begin to panic, what did they do to his body?! Oh no I have to-!
-Maka: "Don't worry."
-Tsubaki: My train of thought is interrupted by a familiar voice, Maka is standing outside my cell it seems. "W-What?"
-Maka: "Don't worry, I have your friend in the examination room, where my servants are checking him out. Guard! Grab her, it's time for the interrogation." I wave my hand at a nearby guard and he salutes, unlocks her cell, then drags her out by her chains. Once she is to her feet we head to the questioning room where she is seated and chained to her chair. "Now, you do not speak unless you're answering a question." She nods and I begin, "Where did you come from, you flew in through the mirror clutching that empty body. Why?"
-Tsubaki: Oh no, she's asking the very questions I can not answer, from the looks of it Maka is somehow the dictator of this world, which means she took down Lord Death AND Kid! I gulp, not knowing what to do, if I tell her about the many different realms chances are she'll start trying to Walk On the Line, which isn't good. "We used it as a portal ma'am, you see, my partner and I, had been working on a way to easily transport from one place to the next without damage or risk, but as you can see we failed. Before we had tested it by simply transporting from one room in our lab to the next, and it was a great success, no side affects at all. But then as we widened our range we noticed certain things altered, we transported ourselves from the lab to the office of the first floor, and we saw our eyesight had weakened, everything was blurry unless we wore glasses, so we transported back, and when doing so our sight was back to normal, so we decided to test the lengths of our transportation device and kept furthering our location. But neither of us would have guessed that at a certain distance, one of our lives would have been lost. I guess my partners soul got lost in the mix of the transportation." I look down with a sad expression, not even a fake one either, speaking of Blackstar dying as if it was just a failed science experiment is hard, but I have a strong feeling he isn't dead, that his body and soul are just separated.
-Maka: "So why would you decide to transport here of all places?"
-Tsubaki: "Because I thought you would like to hear of the scientific breakthrough my partner and I are close to completing. And possibly ask for help, equipment or even just advice if you had any."
-Maka: "I see, well what do you plan to do now that your partner is dead?"
-Tsubaki: "I...I was going to head back to my lab and continuing to research and work on the project and try and get it right."
-Maka: "That's too bad."
-Tsubaki: I hold my breath, gulp and look up. She's grinning like she's purposely giving me a hard time.
-Maka: "You think I would just let you appear in my presence without permission and just let you go? Tch!"
-Tsubaki: And with a flick of her wrist a guard come's in and pulls me out, most likely to drag me back to my dungeon cell. "Let me go!!" As I scream we hear a loud roar echo through the building, some rumbling and then a blast through the floor. "What the-?!" I watch as a shadow flashes all around the room, knocking out guards and even throwing Maka to the ground, I'm thrown to the floor due to the sudden chaos and I try to follow it's movements. "Blackstar?!" It freezes, as the smoke and dust clear I can clearly see Blackstar, hunched over and breathing crazy heavy, his hair pitch black along with his eyes. "Oh no..." How is it even possible? He snaps his head in my direction and stares at me for a second before lunging toward me, before I can even react he grabs my hair and yanks me up, then screams bloody murder into my face and I'm forced into my weapon form. "Blackstar no-!" A searing pain shoots through my body and I scream at the top of my lungs. "How?!!!" It's as if the demon wavelength is resonating with his empty body, once my demon sword mode is under his control he leaps out a nearby window.
-Maka: "SOUL!!!"
-Soul: "Master!!" I transform as I fling myself at Maka she catches me and I blast our resonance to full power and she takes to the same window, plummeting toward the ground right behind the escapees.
-Maka: "You're not going anywhere!!"
-Tsubaki: Blackstar turns around and faces Maka, grinning with a smug and evil expression as he uses the shadow to basically cushion his fall, while Maka plunges face first into the hard cement ground. "No Blackstar you can't!!" I scream as he stands over Maka, my blade pressed to the back of her head as he gently pushes it in.
-???: "Slip..."
-Tsubaki: Suddenly everything freezes, nothing moves not even the birds in the sky.
-???: "Slip..."
-Tsubaki: I look up and see Patty pressing her forehead to Blackstar's, staring into his black eyes as the rest of her body stays floating off the ground.
-Patty: "Slip out of yourself."
-Tsubaki: Why though? She already took Blackstar's soul?
-Patty: "Bring me your soul, in hand."
-Tsubaki: Blackstar's eyes nose and mouth begin to shine as if a light from inside was being shown, and without noticing I see Patty's forehead is pressed to mine, in the same position as she was to Blackstar just a second ago as if I was the one pressed my blade to Maka's head.
-Patty: "Give me the life you have."
-Tsubaki: Everything. Vanishes.
-Patty: I hold her soul to my chest and push it into me like I did her partners. "She will be soooooo happy!" I giggle as I float back to the Line, creating a portal in the middle of the sky and tip toe towards it. "I hope she will be happy I retrieved these souls...just like she ordered me too, hehe!"
