Apocalypse love..

Him.

*FLASHBACK LIKE 5 YEARS EARLIER*

Edith sat on her porch two days since the apocalypse outbreak. there were no signs of her mother and Edith felt devastated. As she sat and mourned thinking of her (probably) dead mother she saw two guys running over to her in a rush. "Hey kid we don't have any time to explain just come with us okay?" said a pretty tall man with dark brown hair and cargo pants.

(a few minutes later)

"Yeah, uhm so..." The other guy started. He didn't look that old, probably around 18, he had pretty long hair and a baseball cap on his head. He wasn't as muscular as the other man but he was definetly faster and smarter. "We have a camp close by, right outside the city actually."

"And we couldn't just leave you here alone, you're just a kid." The other muscular guy continued.

As they walked (or literally ran) Edith found out that the muscular man with the dark brown hair was named Shane, Shane Walsh. The other guy was named Glenn Rhee.

(At the camp about six weeks later)

Edith opened up her tent and to her surprise she saw her best friend Carl Grimes standing right outside her tent.
"Goodmorning" Carl said as he helped Edith out of her tent. Edith looked at Carl and smiled as she took his hand.

"Where's my mom? I thought she'd be here by now." Carl quickly took his gaze away from her as he tried to come up with a way to make it sound like butterflies and rainbows when Shane interrupted.

"Listen, kid." He started. He tried avoiding Edith's curious gaze as he said: "Your mom.. she never showed up."

Edith's smile quickly got wiped away as she got back into her tent.

After Edith sat in her tent crying for a bit she walked out only to see Carl waiting outside. Edith quickly walked past him and straight to the caravan that stood a bit from the tents.

"Where's Glenn?" Edith asked a man on top of a caravan. The man's name was Dale. He was pretty old and had white bushy eyebrows along with a white short beard and hair.

"Oh hey Edith! Glenn is currently out trying to find us some supplies. He'll be back soon I hope." The old man said as he tried to smile.

Edith walked back to Carl and hugged Carl quickly. They were quickly interuppted as they heard a loud car alarm in the distance. Edith and Carl went to inspect and it turns out it was Glenn, he was driving a red sports car and he looked happier than ever.

Edith's face lit up as Glenn stepped out of the car, Edith ran into Glenn's arms and felt all the fear of Glenn disappearing go away. "Whoah! Hey kid..there there. It's okay, I'm here now." Glenn quickly said as Edith sobbed slightly. Glenn was the one who told everyone about Edith's mother and how she never showed and had to make Shane say it.

Carl's mother Lori had a slight sad look on her face as she hugged Carl lightly while he sobbed. Carl started to believe that his father didn't make it and right as he started breaking down Glenn started mentioning a new guy.

T-dog who were with them at the camp called for the new guy and it turned out to be Rick Grimes.

Carl's face lit up and he screamed: "Dad!" As he ran towards Rick.

Shane who thought Rick didn't make it, used to be Rick's best friend and he had a concerned look on his face. Edith looked curiously at Shane's face as he went to greet Rick but he was too busy hugging his family. Edith looked at Carl's relieved face as he hugged his father, but at the same time Edith felt the tears building up in her eyes.

Edith ran into Dale's caravan and laid down on the couch as she broke down in tears, she started having flashbacks of when her father Luie got eaten by those horrible Zombie creatures. All the blood that splattered on her face as his guts got torn out and all the screams from her father and her mother, it made her feel empty. The way the walkers just devoured her father made her feel like throwing up.

As she was crying there on Dale's couch Carl walked in, Edith quickly wiped her tears as she heard Carl's footsteps on the wooden floor.
"Yes?" Edith said as she wiped her tears away.

"Edith." Carl said as he tried to get her attention. Edith looked in Carl's direction and saw that his arms were open as if he was going to give her a hug.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" Carl said with a faint smile on his face. Edith hugged Carl tightly and felt the sadness fainting away. Carl stroked Edith's long blonde hair and Edith felt something that she haven't felt before, it was like butterflies in her stomach.

She shook that feeling away as Rick walked in and greeted her. Edith smiled at Rick and looked at Carl and said:
"Well it was nice meeting you Rick and Carl, thank you." Carl gave Edith a confused look as she walked out of the caravan.

Later at the lake Andrea, Amy, Carol, Carol's husband Ed, Carl, Lori, Jackie were hanging out and Shane taught Carl to fish as the others were washing the laundry.

Ed walked up to Carol and said:
"Hey skank, wash these too while you're at it." As he threw his dirty clothes at Carol.

"Hey! That's no way of treating your wife. Go ahead and apologise. Now!" Andrea said, she looked like she wanted to rip his heart out.

Ed just looked at her and laughed at Andrea as if she were joking, Ed soon realised that she wasn't joking and stopped to laugh and walked up towards Carol and slapped her. "I never listen you you useless women." He said.

Shane walked towards Ed and punched him right in the face. "Touch Carol again and I'll kill you. Understood?!" Shane said to Ed who had fallen to the ground. Ed nodded and quickly got up and walked off to the camp. Lori, Carol, Andrea, Jackie, Carl and Amy stood there stunned of Shane's actions. Shane looked back and walked back to the camp.

Back at the camp Edith and Sofia played in the mud until a walker appeared, the girls screamed as the disgusting creature started waking slowly up to them. Lori and the others heard the screams and ran quickly back up to the camp. Jackie stared at the walker with a gun in her hand. She just stood there, frozen because of the fear.

The walker started walking towards Jackie instead but Dale came in the last second with a shovel and chopped it's head off. Jackie just looked at the lifeless body and the head that kept looking at her.

"It's still alive!" Edith shouted but then Shane took and axe and stopped the creature's suffering. Edith looked disgusted and Carl went to give her a hug.
A few hours later they all went to sleep.

(Aout 3 hours later)

As Edith struggled to fall asleep she heard some branches snapping in the woods, "Hello?" Edith said with a shaky tone in her voice. She quickly grabbed her flashlight and opened up her tent, as she walked out of her tent somebody pushed her back inside.

As Edith tried to scream she felt a hand on her mouth and heard a voice, "Shhhh! It's me, Carl." Edith got up and closed her tent.

"Why did you come here. Your parents think that you're asleep." Edith said. Carl looked at Edith as if she were stupid and told her that he couldn't sleep because he also heard someone walk in the woods.

Carl and Edith cuddled up in Edith's sleeping bag.

"Hey. I know that we are so young but in ten years, when this is over. I will marry you." Carl said. He smiled and held Edith's hand.

"We are only ten you little turd!" Edith said as she leaned on Carl's shoulder. "But, I think i would say yes." Edith said and smiled at Carl.

HEYYY so I will post another chapter but I just want to see what y'all think.
