Apocalypse love..

Dawn.

Edith laid in her bed trying to process what happened the other night. She barely remembered what they ate for dinner, she turned around facing her cell door and felt the sun blind her. "Ow!" She whisper yelled as she slowly rubbed her eyes.

"Someone's a late sleeper." Edith snapped her head to the side of her bed and saw a familiar face by her side. "Did you miss me?" Carl asked as he smirked softly at Edith.

Edith laughed softly. "Can't say I didn't." Edith said giving him an identical smirk as she stretched her legs. She sat up and Carl looked at her and smiled. Edith just rolled her eyes playfully and got out of her bed and out of the cell with Carl close behind.

"So..i hope that you enjoyed our 'romantic' kiss in the guard tower..." Carl whispered to Edith as he blushed. Edith smiled at him and just looked into his bright blue eyes.

"Of course I enjoyed it, it's the best thing that has happened to me since the end of the damn world." Edith said as she kept his eyes locked with hers. She felt her cheeks grow red and broke the eye contact after what felt like forever.

Carl grabbed Edith's hand and smiled. "Come on! I gotta show you something, you'll love it!" Without letting Edith answer he pulled her with him and Edith didn't even have time to react.

After a while Edith finally felt herself go to a stop, she looked around and saw a big sign that said: 'Library'. Edith felt her lips twitch into a smile and hugged Carl. "Thank you! This is a lovely surprise!" She said and kissed his cheek. She ran into the library and Carl went after her with no hesitation.

Edith immediately found a superhero comic and grabbed it before Carl could see it. Edith smiled widely and looked at Carl mischievously, but Carl just flashed her a quick smile as he had also grabbed a comic that he knew Edith would like. "Let's go back! I'm starving." Edith said and put the comic in her bag as she started to jog back.

"Wait up! I just gotta—." Carl got interrupted by Edith pulling him back with her. Carl laughed and tried to hide the comic behind his back. "I'll just take a quick turn in my cell and get my hat!" Carl ran ahead and opened his cell door. "Damn it." Carl thought to himself as he tried to hide it under his pillow as quick as he could. He heard Edith giggling in the cell besides him and he also heard her tell Beth something.

"Please hide this for me!" Edith begged Beth as she giggled. "It's for Carl!" She whisper-yelled as Beth took the comic book she got in the library. Before Beth could ask any questions Edith had ran out and saw Carl waiting by the cellblock exit. "Awww! You waited, you're just the sweetest!" She said jokingly and kissed him on the cheek quickly before dragging him out of the prison and to Carol and Daryl who were cooking breakfast.

Daryl noticed Edith and Carl flashed them a quick smile. "Hey lovebirds, what would y'all like to eat?" Daryl said teasingly.

"Just cereal!" Carl and Edith said in sync. They both looked at each other and laughed as they were handed a cereal box. It was almost empty but they didn't really care. "Let's not eat it all." Edith said as she and Carl sat down by a table.

They quickly ate their breakfast and they sneaked into one of the towers again, they looked at the beautiful view of the prison and held each others hands. They both enjoyed each others presence and none of them felt like talking until Edith felt Carl look at her.

Edith looked into Carl's eyes and felt her lips creep into a smile. "The view is prefect." Edith said and looked back out. Edith could see the sun creeping up behind some trees. "It's almost as perfect as you..." Edith whispered quietly. But Carl heard it.

Carl smiled at Edith and pulled her arm to get her closer to him. "It reminds me of you, beautiful." Carl smirked slightly as Edith put her arms around his neck. "I love it when you do that, almost as much as I love y—." Carl cut himself off my the end of the sentence. "Sorry...it just slipped out!" But he quickly looked at Edith's kind expression. "Edith?..."

"I love you too Carl." Carl didn't have any time to react before Edith had pulled him in for a deep kiss. He felt Edith playing with his long and soft hair, Carl slipped his hands on her waist. She leaned herself on the railing and Carl moved one hand to cup her cheek to pull her face closer to his. After what felt like forever they pulled away, Carl slowly opened his eyes and looked at Edith with a bright smile. "I think I'm getting deja vu!" Edith laughed as the sentence slipped out of her mouth. Carl didn't answer, instead he just laughed.

"Me too." He said as he kissed her again. This time the kiss got steamier, Carl kissed Edith's neck softly and put his soft hands on her lower back. Edith felt her breath hitch and she pulled his head back up. "Sorry.." Carl mumbled as he felt himself cringe because of his action.

"It's okay, let's just wait with that, yeah?" Edith said softly and Carl nodded. Edith quickly pulled him into a slow kiss and put her hands on his waist this time. Carl felt shivers down his spine and cupped her face with one of his hands. 

Carl and Edith's moment quickly got interuppted by a big explosion, Edith felt her body tense up and she snapped her eyes to the sound. She saw what she feared the most, The Govenour.
