Ch 5. // The Dark

An) Guys, we are in the home stretch, this will be officially the last chapter of this story, and I will be free from how long it takes me to write one of these and maybe; MAYBE make another ink demon x reader taking place in the first game. Though if it does happen, I might start it right away; or when school ends this June, the junior year is terrible AF. By the way, after this chapter posts, don't remove it from your reading lists just yet (I see that), but I have art/ concepts I want to post as an extras chapter. Anyways I will let you guys cry now; cope.

Your POV

I watch the Ink demon crawl back out of the ink puddle, not a ship ahoy bitch in sight. I smiled at him because of our newfound victory, but he seemed tenser than before. I shrugged it off though now all that was left was to reset the cycle. I remember the Ink Demon mentioned something about it; being hidden away at the keeper's lab, which isn't far.

When walking out of once, Wilson's lair and waving goodbye to Betty, Inky hovered over me almost instead of his walk ahead. Jumping onto the train back to that beautiful city I didn't get much time in. Something kept telling me to look at that hot sexy beast, though. The cart stopped, and we got off, but the demon turned right instead in the opposite direction of the keeper's lab, confused, I still followed.

Y/N: Hey, hot ass, aren't we supposed to go the other way?

But he only let out a low growl though.

That was the last straw; he's defiantly up to something. It honestly made my heart sink a bit. I think back to the things Alice said that worried me. What if Alice was right; all this time, he was playing with me like a toy. That I'm his next meal, another drop of water in the ocean and replaceable. It had felt as though he was distant too.

I was snapped out of my spiral by the Ink Demon grabbing my arm and sinking me into a puddle as I harshly closed my eyes. I felt myself collide into his big chest, which he should be wearing a bra for. Slowly I opened my eyes to be where I started in the place called heavenly toys gasping at the sight I never took in as much before. Without my mind racing, I realized how beautiful it was here.

The sounds of the Ink fountain sang along to a distant radio humming some old classy tune. The lights of the flowers and ceiling balanced each other. If I'm going to be eaten alive, I'm glad it's where it all started.

Finally, I looked back at what I somewhat thought; to be a lover; he looked more nervous than tense now. He growled ferociously, turning around and smashing some old crate agitated. He punched a wall and mumbled to himself; I think he was mad at himself. Rather than his usual demeanor, he was melty, uncalm, and unraveled. That would've been a chance to run if what I thought was true, but my body acted on its own. Instead, my arms wrapped around his waist tightly. For once, instead of our banter and flirts, it was comfort.

He seemed to relax as we stayed like that for a while. The Ink demon even turned around to hug me, but with his strength, I was like a mini stress ball.

In his gargled garbage disposal voice, he whispered in my ear.

Ink Demon: I won't lose you after a taste of what's mine.

Hearing that sentence spill out of his mouth, I feel a mixture of emotions; slight arousal, sadness feeling somewhat the same way, and guilt wanting badly to stay with him but can't. Some tears escaped my eyes, little ink droplets hitting the floor.

He spoke again.

Ink Demon: We don't have to reset the loop; we can rule the studio forever. I will not lose you to the dark puddles of the time loop. I will not let you go; I love you.

My tears hit the floor harshly, making a little ink puddle itself. I spoke with my shakey voice.
