Percy
When the bell rang, I gathered my stuff and waited for Annabeth outside the classroom door. It was our lunch break now, and I planned to spend as much time as possible with her. When she exited, I laced my fingers through hers and headed towards our lockers. I was so happy to be with her again.
As I reached my locker, I dropped in my books and saw Dan nearby. I walked over to him.
"Hey, man. Uh, I'm gonna go hang out with Annabeth.. So, I guess I'll see you later?" I mumbled.
"Sure thing, Perce." He still had the i-can't-believe-you-actually-have-a-girlfriend expression plastered over his face. He raised an arm in farewell and turned away.
Ten minutes later, Annabeth and I were walking over the green field outside school. I wanted to show her a place I specifically liked. It was an open, grassy space completely flat other than a hanging willow tree. It reminded me of Camp Half-Blood. We had been making small talk, Annabeth talking about how she came to be staying at my house for a while, and me constantly repeating oh my gods, I've missed you so much. Kinda lame, but I meant it. It was great to see those fierce, stormy grey eyes that reminded you how this girl could take you down before you could even shout "Mommy!". It was amazing to smell those lemony-scented blonde curls.
When we reached the tree and dropped down our bags, I asked,
"So.. Do you know how everything's running at Camp?"
"Well, I was there over the long weekend a few weeks ago. Everything was fine. Still cleaning up after the war. Rachel has settled in. Chiron's feeling optimistic. Although, one day Katie Gardner did notice a dracaena on the way to Camp... But otherwise there aren't many monsters." Annabeth responded smoothly.
"Great. Gods... I miss the place. I mean, even though I like Goode and all.. I've got friends.. I just.. Camp Half-Blood is like my other home. I miss Chiron. I miss Connor and Travis. I- I miss Beckendorf.. And Silena.." I looked down sadly. "I even miss Clarisse. And Grover of course. And Tyson. And-"
"I know, Seaweed Brain. I miss them too." Annabeth said softly. She leaned in and kissed my cheek, making my skin hum.
I got out the two sandwiches I'd grabbed at the school canteen. They looked kind of mushy. I handed the least-gross one to Annabeth. Wow, I'm so romantic. Picnic with mushy sandwiches. Great. But Annabeth unwrapped hers and took a bite, amusement in her eyes.
"They're better than they look." She grinned at the obvious apprehensive look on my face.

After school, Percy led me to a Park near his home. He let his mom know where we were, of course. We lay down in the warm grass, my head resting on his chest. His smell was everywhere. He smelled of the ocean, fresh and salty. We just lay there, for a long time, staring at the clouds as the sun began setting on the horizon, turning the sky pink and orange and deep purple. Unspoken words flew between us, about how we'd missed each other, about how we enjoyed each other's company. I almost fell asleep there, with him to hold me.
My eyes flew open, though, when I heard voices nearby. I looked around, and saw a familiar face. Seraphina, the Barbie-girl I'd seen earlier (who Percy had told me almost all about), was standing nearby with a group of her followers around her. She was glaring jealously in our direction, mumbling something to her friends and shooting dirty glances at me. Percy looked at her, anger in his eyes.
"Leave her," I said. "She doesn't deserve your attention." Percy had told me about how Seraphina had bullied one of his friends for a long time. She sounded cruel and pitiful. Then, I smirked. I had an idea.
"Play along, Seaweed Brain." I said smugly. I made sure Seraphina was watching, then leaned in close to him and kissed him softly. I could feel Percy's grin.
When I sat up straight again, Seraphina's face was tomato red. I tried not to laugh. It was harder for Percy, who straight on guffawed. Kelp Face.
We got up and left for home, not wanting to be in Barbie's company.

As we reached Percy's doorstep, he pulled my hand and turned me around. He slid his arms around my waist and pulled me into a long, passionate yet gentle kiss. This was much more romantic than the other times today, and less hurried. I slid my arms around his neck, ruffling his hair. Seaweed Brain.

As we sat down for Mrs. Jacksons amazing dinner, she smiled brightly at me. Percy's mom was so kind. I really liked her.
"How was your first day of school, Annabeth?" She said gently.
"Great. Goode seems to be a good school." I said, before taking a bite of the delicious blue pizza Sally had made in honor of Percy.
"Lovely. We'll get you settled in the guest room after dinner. Got a lot of homework?"
"Thanks. And, not really. We'll help each other. " I said and smiled at Percy, who was already on his second slice.
After dinner, Percy and I did our homework. I ended up doing much of Percy's as well, after he made the big puppy-dog eyes at me (try resisting those adorable green eyes!!). I didn't mind though.
That night, I fell asleep in the guest bed feeling relaxed and happy.
