"Everyone, please welcome Y/n! Our new friend!" The mother enthusiastically yelled, the orphans giving Y/n either terrified or disgusted looks. "Now, I know she isn't exactly.. human. But, I want you to welcome her like anyone else, understood?" The kind lady said, her tone stern. The orphans nodded, only because they would be yelled at if they didn't.

"She's scary.." Y/n heard one kid whisper to their friend, her eyes swelled with tears. The mother noticed this and shot the boy a glare, then pointed to outside the room. The boy groaned, and walked outside.

A young girl rose her hand, "Yes Bella?" The mother asked with a warm smile. "What exactly is Y/n?" The curious girl said, you could hear the fear in her voice. "Well, Y/n is half human, half demon." The mother explained, Y/n touched her horns, insecurely.

"Now, let me go deal with Lucas outside, everyone please make Y/n feel welcome." The mother said, before walking outside to the boy.

Y/n approached some girls and did a small wave, "AH!" One screamed, jumping back from the little demon girl. "Don't be a scaredy-cat, Angelica!" A boy said, coming towards Y/n, she looked at the boy confused when suddenly,

THUMP.

He pushed the young girl on the hard, wood floor. Children started laughing, pointing and shouting at the demon girl. The young girl began to tear up another boy pushed through them all looking angry. "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU ALL!?" He yelled at the crowd, defending the girl on the floor. It was clear kids started to regret it, they seemed scared of the boy. It could've been that he was the eldest out of them all, or that he was the only one who could state his worst opinions about someone like it was nothing.

"Get lost," He spat, the crowd starting to leave with their own little friend groups, to do their own thing. The boy looked at the demon girl and offered a hand to help her up, reluctantly. she took it and stood on her feet. "Eret, and your Y/n, correct?" He asked, the girl nodded still quite upset, her eyes red and puffy.

"Don't worry, they won't bother you if I have anything to do with it!"
