( ୨୧ ♥︎! JUNE 20TH, 2022 ୨୧ ♥︎! )

SOOYOUNG didn't how how to react when she got back to korea, her thoughts were overtaken by her interaction with her family when she visited china. she kept trying to recall her last moments with her family many years ago, before she departed korea to become an idol.

but it simply was not clicking. as she pulled on her hoodie, sooyoung rushed through the airport, already feeling fans chase after her. she was lucky enough to have made it in her van before the airport was crowded with them.

"everything okay?" her manager, eun-bi, asked.

sooyoung nodded and leaned back into her seat, her thoughts still stuck on her family. her final moments with her family finally clicking.

it was december 23rd, 2015. xiuying final moment with her family. she was seated in her living room, her legs propped on the coffee table, flipping through the channels on the screen. there was a secret that no one knew about yet.

her dream to be an idol.

everyone in her family knew and expected her to be a professional ice skater. so, xiuying didn't know how her family would react upon finding out that she would be leaving her family -- possibly for good.

xiuying was tired to surrounding herself with them, she would always do everything she could to avoid them. but, it didn't always work. so what if she moved, it would align with everything perfectly.

qianfan entered the living room, seeming pissed. his eyebrows were furrowed, hair tussled, and clothes wrinkled. he walked into the kitchen and grabbed a rag, wetting it with water and spreading it on his face.

"what's wrong with you," xiuying asked, speaking in her native's tongue.

"can you not? i'm not in the mood," qianfan voiced, slapping the rag on the counter.

xiuying simply scoffed and averted her gaze back to the screen in front of her, but qianfan didn't take it lightly.

"do you have a problem?" he stopped in his tracks, staring at his older sister.

"no? what's with you always starting problems?" xiuying rebutted, it was probably a stupid decision. with qianfan's anger issues and him already being pissed off, the boy acted without thinking.

he walked up to his sister and grabbed her collar, pulling her away from the couch. xiuying dropped the remote and stumbled. the two of them have gotten into physical fights -- lots of them. but, this one seemed different.

qianfan wasn't himself. it was like murder was on his mind.

"let me go!" xiuying shouted, pushing her younger brother away.

"you always think you're so high and mighty, you always think you're better than everyone else!" qianfan shouted, stepping closer.

"maybe it's because i am?!" xiuying defended, not backing down from the fight. "you're out here getting into fights and meng-yao is somewhere getting drunk and high!"

on his final straw, qianfan pushed his sister, causing her to fall and slam into the coffee table, effectively breaking it. but that didn't stop the girl, she got up and threw a punch at her brother, who didn't expect the comeback and stumbled at the force.

"don't fucking touch me!" xiuying shouted, rage boiling in her stomach.

qianfan recovered from the force and jumped, grabbing onto xiuying as they tumbled to the ground. the brother straddled against xiuying and threw reckless punches, leaving xiuying bloody on the floor.

the older sister struggled, defending herself with every bone in her body. she turned them around, xiuying trapping qianfan, her fist meeting qianfan's face and body countless, returning the favor.

they were so blind with rage, they didn't even hear a door spring open, loud footsteps banging against the wooden floor. xiuying barely processed the fact she was being dragged off her brother.

the sister didn't fight against the person who was dragging her, qianfan looked like he was bloody - he's had enough.

"are you fucking kidding me?!" mei shouted, dropping her daughter to the ground as she shouted at her children.

"don't look at me, he started it," xiuying defended, standing up, wincing at the pain.

mei rolled her eyes, "i don't care who started it, what the fuck are you two doing?"

qianfan finally stood up, "what do you think? bonding over some tea, talking about what a horrible mother you are?"

xiuying glared at her brother, blood plastered on her face. mostly hers, but she was sure there were some of her brother's. "i'm tired of you, qianfan. you're always out there fucking up my life. i just want you gone."

meng-yao stepped in, stumbling inside the house. she stood next to mei, drunk and confused.

"i'm tired of all of you! i just want a moment of peace, without every one of you hovering over my neck and doing stupid shit."

qianfan scoffed as he rolled his eyes, meng-yao officially collapsing on the floor. "then leave, i don't want you here either. so fucking leave."

xiuying let out a nod, tears swimming in her eyes. she turned around and marched in her room. wiping off the blood on her face and packing her suitcase.

and the next morning, she was gone.

"hey, sooyoung? earth to sooyoung?!" sooyoung's manager voiced, snapping the blonde out of her trance.

sooyoung leaned out of her seat, nodding at her manager. she stepped out of the car and entered her dorms, seeing the rest of the girls in the living room, bonding over movies and snacks.

yunjin's eyes brightened at the sight of her girlfriend, she hastily got up and rushed to sooyoung, hugging her tightly. "what are you doing here so early?" she asked, refusing to let go.

sooyoung smiled softly, wrapping her arms around yunjin, kissing her head. "long story short, me and my family don't get along very well," she explained, hugging her girlfriend tightly before letting go.

yunjin decided against questioning it and went to the couch, patting the empty seat next to her.

"i need to talk to someone, but i'll be back in a few," she announced, in response, she got a couple of mumbles. sooyoung went into her bedroom and pulled out her phone, dialing her brothers contact for the second time.

"second time, i'm surprised," qianfan spoke.

sooyoung laughed, but got straight to the point. "do you remember how i left? the first time i mean?"

"why?"

"just answer."

there was a pause, "well, of course i do. it wasn't pretty."

sooyoung frowned. looking back, she realized how abusive she was towards her brother, and how abusive he was towards her. the two were like fire and fire, so alike that they couldn't get along.

"why are you asking about this, though?" qianfan asked.

"i couldn't figure it out, why we were so tense when we were in china. why mei seemed scared whenever we were in the same room," sooyoung explained. "but i just remembered, and i felt horrible about it."

qianfan sighed, "it's a done deal. it happened and there's nothing we can do about it, we aren't the same people as we were before. so don't overthink."

there was an awkward pause between the two. qianfan took this moment to speak.

"don't worry about it, i guess we're decent now. i gotta go, i'll see you later."

he hung up.

that was it, the end of their conversation. sooyoung didn't know about anything else. she didn't know if they were on good terms, or if they shouldn't speak again.

it was left a mystery.
