it was truly unfortunate.

through viserys' eye, the divide of his family brought him more sorrow than the slow destruction of his body. the only eye he has left looks around the table once more.

"how good it is..." he trails off. "to see you all tonight..

together."

nyra looks down on her plate before she looks up and was met with aemond's eye.

the silence that overtook the table made everyone look at each other so they were overlooked as anyone who witnesses their gaze would make them question each other's loyalty.

"prayer before we begin?"

alicent cuts in and everyone bows down their head.

"may the mother smile down on this gathering with love

may the smith mend the bonds that have been broken for far too long

and to vaemond velaryon, may the gods give him rest"

nyra rolls her eyes and sighs in annoyance. after that, she just stops listening until alicent finishes and they look at viserys before they begin to eat.

"this is an occasion for celebration, it seems.  my grandsons, jace and luke, will marry their cousins, baela and rhaena further strengthening the bond between our houses"

the king rasps and nyra shrinks to the back of her chair of the overwhelming feeling of unconfessed love and pining from both brothers.

instead, she could feel the stare of aemond as he looked at her with an unknown meaning but she knew its depth and importance for him to give her such a look.

the pair spoke with their eyes, such that the language of deianyra and aemond were longing stares. nothing else, no words needed to be changed.

there was a hunger, greed, pain, and most of all, longing. aemond thought nyra as a friend, a mate of some sort ever since he was a boy.

she stood up for him when the others didn't. he will never forget that she tried to fight off her own brothers during the years back regarding vhagar and the sisters.

when she fled for dragonstone after the murder of her father, he wondered if he would ever really see her again. no ravens, nothing to show his interest in his departure or it would arise suspicion amongst his family. but he wanted to.

in a perfect world, aemond would've given her his everything. he cared for her only but as she grown, she has come to resist the thought of him.

it pains him, you see.
