The Start of Something New

Third Person POV

Green finishes cleaning his sword alongside Blue, thinking. Why is it that Blue gives up the princesses' love so easily? Is he shy? No, that can't be it, he rushes into battle without thinking. What is it then? Is he–

"Hey, Blue. I had a question."

The dark roast-sounding voice of Purple slashes through Green's thoughts like the sword he just cleaned off. He looks to his left to see Blue freeze up, and not because of his magic.

"Y-yes? What is it, Purple?" the ice-wielding knight stutters, adopting a quieter tone. Green takes note of his unusually different, tighter stance. That's odd.

"Well, I was wondering if you could join me at the King's tavern. You don't have to, of course, but if you want to, you can." Purple says with a slight twinge of nervousness. Nervousness? He's usually so monotonous. What's going on?

"Yes! Yes, I'll join you. Are we going now?" Blue asks excitedly. Red enters with genuine confusion in their eyes. They look to Green with a slight head tilt as the poison-wielding knight gestures to Blue and Purple.

"Yes. The King expects me there in twenty minutes. Are you ready?" Purple asks with an uncharacteristically soft tone. A tone that cares. A tone that loves. Green and Red stare at the two in silent shock as Blue nods.

Purple holds out his hand for Blue to take. As the two men walk hand-in-hand out of the cave, the answers to both of the remaining knights' questions become obvious.

One: Blue is gay.

Two: He's in love with Purple.

Three: Purple likes him back.

Four: Orange is there too. Orange doesn't know.

"Oh shit..." the two say in unison.
