Elias' POV
The doctor leads us to the room Silas is staying in and we all enter the hospital room gradually. Silas is hooked up to multiple IV's, two big bags filled with some clear fluid, another smaller bag and a third for a blood transfusion. "Thank you, Doctor," Dad thanks the doctor, before he exits the room to give us our space.
"Silas? Darling?" Mum calls out, her voice cracking a little, as she goes to stand beside Silas' bed, grabbing hold his hand. He didn't respond to her touch, seemingly in a deep sleep, but at least he didn't look like he was in any pain anymore. "Oh, my darling," she whispers, holding back a sob. Dad goes to stand beside his mate, rubbing circles into her back to comfort her.
A lump in my throat forms as I watch my tearful parents softly talk to Silas, despite him probably not being able to hear them. Kai grabs hold of my hand, which I take gratefully. "I told you, he'll be okay," Kai whispers to me gently. I look up to see his eyes welled up with tears. Giving him a small smile, I place my head on his chest, hugging him tightly, as he wraps his arms around me.
We spend the next hour together in Silas' hospital room together trying to lighten up the mood, avoiding the situation at hand. Does killing that rouge mean anything more? We weren't ready to talk about it when Silas was still unconscious and we have a pack member to bury.

Ryder's POV
I continue to pace up and down the entrance of my pack's territory, deciding between leaving to find my mate or trust that he will come back to me as he had told me.
"He'll come here, he said he would," Arabella reminds me, as she and Blaze stand off to the side, watching me pace back and forth.
"Take deep breaths Ryder," Blaze instructs me, which reminds me to breathe more slowly, to try to calm myself down.
Suddenly, a thought crosses my mind making me stop in my tracks, "It's been three hours and I haven't heard anything else from him, what if he's hurt?" I ask, looking over to them terrified.
"You would've felt it if he was hurt," Blaze quickly responds, shooting down the idea in my head, which relieves me.
"But what if—," I begin to speak out loud again when my body starts tingling with delight and my favourite smell hits my nose. Immediately, I look over to see Elias walking closer to my pack, I don't even register my body moving towards him, as my legs sprint to him. Crashing into him, I wrap my arms around his neck, holding him tightly against my chest.
I bury my nose into the side of his neck, taking deep breaths of his scent. Today I was so terrified of losing him, that I want to make sure he's truly in my arms right now. Pulling my head back, I inspect Elias' face to see if he's injured at all. "Are you hurt at all?" I ask him, still inspecting his face and body. Eli shakes his head. I hold his hands which are covered in dried up blood, "Silas'?" I ask him gently, and this time he nods, his eyes filling up with tears.
My heart breaks seeing him so hurt, making me pull him in again for another hug. "I'm sorry Elias."
Elias hugs me back tightly, "he's okay," he whispers softly, his voice cracking. "It just really scared me."
"I know baby, I know," I understood him.
He lets out a sob, "I thought I lost him," he tells me, as I rub soothing circles in his back. Despite all my differences with Elias' brother, the mere thought of him gone forever left me feeling numb. Even though he and I might never be truely close friends, I was grateful he was alive and okay.
We stay in the same spot for awhile, simply holding each other. It's only until the stream of tears stop flowing down Elias' face that we decide to go back to my house, Arabella and Blaze long gone.
"I was so scared something had happened to you," I tell confess, as I cuddle Elias, whose face was resting on my chest as we lay together on my bed. "What happened today? How did Silas get hurt so badly?"
Elias takes a deep breath before speaking, "we went outside our territory for training, but we later noticed one of our pack members went missing, we spilt off into two groups to find him and we did... only he had been murdered," he whispers saw out the last part. "We were on our way back to the pack when suddenly, a rouge wolf came crashing into us and attacked Silas," he explains the encounter. It was too odd, why would a rouge wolf attack unprovoked.
"What happened to the rouge?" I ask him.
"Dead."
A cold chill runs down my spine.
My body tenses.
It was all too familiar.
History was repeating itself.
