Riya weaved through the trees like a snake, slowing down when she had run far away from the brutal men chasing her, the hefty men each with weapons that would bring immense pain to any Muggle.
She knew that they would follow her, she expected it which is why she broke into their village and stole a priceless jewel that caught her eye. It was all for fun. She loved playing around with the prey before pouncing on them, it gave a certain sweetness.
A torch they had thrown kissed her back, not giving her the slightest bit of pain but it jolted her from daydreaming, when she was sure that she was far from the village she came to a halt, waiting for them to dance right to her tunes, tunes of death. She relished the sound of their footsteps taking a deep breath.
They started to appear...one, two, three...she counted them with happiness as she took down the hood of her cloak, her hair covering most of her face. She would have enough for a week. The moonlight sneezed on them giving enough light to glance at the tattoos on their body. Every corian had one, the marks were forged in their bodies from the minute they were born. Any child who couldn't survive, well they say he wasn't strong enough.
"Get back! Get back! It's a Qyshol!" The look of horror on their faces was amusing.
"Fall back, we've been tricked. It's a Qyshol." They were scared just by the mention of a name. The one name that could make a corian drizzle their pants.
Their hounds, the ones who could tear through a crocodile's skin like it were a piece of chicken suddenly had its tail between its legs as Riya's aura was suddenly released. The aura was similar to that of a dragon. A Qyshol's aura has a suppressing effect on the corians, they couldn't look up or breathe without her releasing them.
Sometimes this was a fun way to kill them but she liked the old-fashioned way, the way they tried to run but they knew that they would get killed. This way more adrenaline gets pumped in.
Suddenly, like he had the resolve to die one of the corians charged at her, he was young probably why he decided to make the stupid move. His fellow killers tried to warn him that she wasn't one he could handle but it was too late, she evaded his attack like blood flowing through veins, with ease and grace.
It was a quick move, everyone knew super was a label that didn't do justice to the speed of a Qyshol. She turned hugging him from the back in a chokehold and then she went for the jugular, there was something about drawing blood from the vein that Riya couldn't understand, it tasted even more satisfying than just sinking into flesh or cutting a wrist.
The blond corian struggled as his life drained from his eyes. "Please" he whispered with the little strength he had left. "Please my daughter is waiting for me." Almost at once she let go of him.
This weakness she had to get rid of, food was good whether they had children or not. She showed the corian mercy but he didn't hesitate to plunge his spiked sword laced with poison into her.
"Die you evil beast!" He shouted as he fell to the floor, the lack of blood getting to him.
The sword was made in a way that the spikes go in and then its little hook grabs the intestines and cuts it off, The sword was designed to chop anything immediately it gets a certain amount of force.
Riya stumbled for a bit mostly out of shock, once again her heart betrayed her. "Evil beast?" She smirked "I was merciful before, now? Now you'll feel true pain." She smirked as she pulled out the sword not caring that the spikes tore her flesh.
A wisp of green smoke circled her hand and suddenly it was gone. "Show of!" The corians thought that she was just trying to make them even more scared before killing them, and so they made up their minds to charge at her, if they were going to die they might as well give it their all.
The first corian charged, the one that had gotten her attention. He caught her stealing and brought them here. Her eyes glowed blue before the man was in the air, the same green smoke that had circled her hand held him in the air. She smirked before releasing her signature move.
This move was unique and very deadly, at once the man started screaming in pain, the move was an illusion of the mind. One that felt so real. It made one feel like their insides were being eaten by multiple crawling creatures, he saw them, only the people around him didn't see it. The centipedes, the beetles, the scorpions, the reptiles, the amphibians. As the magic got stronger he kept seeing even bigger things, from insects to reptiles to all things big or small. The corian kept scratching himself, he kept piercing himself with his claws. Trying to get the illusions out.
The other corians tried to get him down. One fired his wisp of magic, enforcing it with a drop of his blood. That was the only attack that could get her to wince. Tired of his screams she increased the magnitude of the magic making the corian unable to breathe, slowly his life was draining from his eyes. As if he had seen something he couldn't bear to have walk in him the corian took his sword and plunged it into his heart, in an instant He floated lifelessly.
"Who is next" she smirked as her face was illuminated.
She took little steps closer to them as they shifted back, they would have run away if not for the powder she had sprayed down. It was wolfsbane, something she had gotten from the wolfmen, they could transform into wolves, it was weird for her. Why wolves? They knew that was a weakness of theirs but they always kept it to harm their fellow shifters. She helped them take it off their hands. In a not-pleasant way if I might add.
"How about you." Riya pointed at the corian who kept shifting back as she walked forward until he touched the barrier.
Grunting he yelled, "Get her." The hounds charged at her but she paid no attention moving closer to the corian writhing in pain. "Eager to meet your daughter?" She mocked him.
Just as her fingers were about to wrap around his throat the hound bit her, tearing into her flesh with its filthy teeth.
"Filthy mutt!" She flicked it away with her magic. The wound closed up almost immediately.
The other hounds charged with a need to kill. They wanted revenge for what she did to one of their masters."Arghhhh!!" The corian shouted as he charged. Riya rolled her eyes, why do all fights have to be noisy? She sealed his mouth, throwing him to the tree with the thorns making an example of him, maybe the others will learn too.
Growing tired of everything she attacked, the first attacking motion she had taken in a while. She moved through them using her claws as a weapon. She moved very slowly but the movement was so fast that the corians didn't know when they were dead, ten of them were dead but she saved the best for the last, the one who had called her evil.
Walking closer to him she shifted her hair from her face, revealing an innocent face, one anyone would swear was not a beast.
"You- you look just like her." the blond whispered.
"You can go but it'll be our little secret, as long as you don't tell anyone what you saw" she smiled and whispered lovingly.
Nodding his head frantically, he picked up his head and ran away, in the direction she hoped he would go. Just as he reached the edge of the already fading wolfsbane circle, he exploded into a blood mist.
Riya clapped her hands like an excited little child. "How did I do?" She asked her friend who was watching the fight for entertainment.
"Petty, why did you let him run?" He asked like it wasn't fun.
"To make it even more fun." She laughed, knowing he enjoyed it. She walked closer to him.
"What about the secret part? I thought we only told ourselves secrets." He feigned annoyance licking the blood that was stained on her cloak.
"No, we gossip. Gossips no one else should know about." The cloak became new again with a wave of her hand earning her a glare from the friend who was savouring the taste.
"Besides" she shrugged. "Two can keep a secret if one of them is dead." She smirked.
