This was wrong. So very, very wrong, and Dylan knew it. But, God, the feeling of Thomas' fingers tracing circles on his upper thigh under the table was too good to try and stop. He knew exactly what he was doing, and a smirk had resided permanently on his face for pretty much the entire interview. A couple of times, Thomas' hand had moved into dangerous territory- just to see if his actions were having the desired effect- before Dylan could stop him, so he settled for mentally cursing the blonde next to him and swearing to himself that he would get him back later. An occasional glance passed between them, but Thomas' eyes just flickered mischievously when Dylan's were practically begging him to stop, to make answering the questions easier for him. Despite the risky situation they were in, he kept dancing his fingers along Dylan's leg cheerfully, deflecting whatever questions the interviewer sent his way with ease. The same couldn't be said for the man next to him, although Thomas had to admit he was holding up pretty well under the circumstances.
"So, Dylan." The woman who was interviewing them turned back to Dylan again, after spending a few minutes discussing Gally's character with Will. She flipped her hair over her shoulder and looked down to read the next question off of the paper, giving Dylan just enough time to shoot a warning look at Thomas, who remained exactly where he was and continued with what he was doing. He gave no indication that he had even witnessed Dylan's attempt at communication.
"You've worked with the Teen Wolf cast for a while now, and I would imagine you've come to love them as a family."
"Mhm." Nodding in assent, Dylan shifted slightly in his seat and rested his chin on his hand.
"Do you think you'll become as close to and as comfortable with the cast of the Maze Runner as you did with the cast of Teen Wolf? So, do you think you'll have a relationship with Kaya like you do with Holland, with Thomas and Will like you do with the Tyler's, etc?" Thomas chuckled as Dylan opened his mouth to speak and stuttered a couple of times as though thinking of his answer on the spot.
"Well- uh, it's kind of like-"
"What he means to say is that we're so much better than the Teen Wolf gang, but he just doesn't want to admit it." Will interrupted with a jokingly superior voice. Inwardly thanking him for giving him more time to word his reply without giving too much away about Thomas, Dylan laughed along with the rest of the people at the table.
"Yeah, well, I was trying to avoid saying that, but thanks, Will." He replied, continuing the back and forth banter Will had laid down for him. Shaking his head and running a hand through his hair in mock stress, he continued.
"Oh, God, I'll be getting calls from everyone from the show tonight. But, no-" Kaya laughed as he was speaking, so Dylan gave another shaky chuckle before continuing.
"No, I definitely love these guys just as much as the guys from Teen Wolf. I mean, the relationships I have here aren't exactly like what I have with them from the show, but that's because it's a different atmosphere here, you know? Because, like, for example, Thomas here." He gestured to the blonde next to him, who had stopped drawing patterns on Dylan's jeans and now has his arm over the back of the brunette's chair. Thomas looked at him and inclined his head slightly, willing him to continue.
"Thomas and I have a great relationship, and we have a lot of fun and it's great to hang out with him, but it's kind of a different dynamic with him than it is with, say, Posey. I've worked with Tyler a lot longer than I have with Thomas, but I feel like I know Thomas just as well as I do Tyler. That creates a different relationship between me and him- and, well, everyone here..." He signalled to Kaya and Will as he spoke as he realised he was talking way too much about Thomas. The fans could probably already write a million fanfictions over what he had already said. Dylan glanced at Thomas again. He was smiling, but not really in the way he had been earlier. Evidence of a cocky smirk was still in there, no doubt it would return fully soon, but there was now an appreciative grin over the top of the previous smirk.
