CH 05 ┃ The Inconveniencing

It was a sunny and slow day at the Mystery Shack. Wendy was reading a magazine, Dipper was writing on his journal again, Mabel was sat spinning on a globe and you were .. Somewhere? Neither of the twins have seen you yet but they're sure you're still in the shack.

"Mabel, do you believe in ghosts?" Dipper asked his spinning sister.

"I believe you're a huge dork." Mabel laughs, Dipper stares unamused at his sister's remark and stops the globe with his pencil, causing Mabel to fall. 

Stan enters from inside, "Wendy! Soos!" He calls out,

Soos, who was cleaning the shelves near the vending machine, runs up next to Wendy, "What's up, Mr. Pines?" He pants, 

"I'm headin' out. You two are gonna wash the bathrooms, right?" Stan asked,

"Yes sir." Soos salutes,

"Absolutely not." Wendy salutes as well,

Stan laughs, "You stay out of trouble." He said before leaving.

"Hey guys! What's this?" She said, unveiling a curtain and revealing a ladder. "A secret ladder to the roof?"

"Uh, did someone go up already" Soos asked, worried. Wendy looked up and saw that the hatch was open already and she goes to climb. "I don't think Mr. Pines would like that." He warned, 

"Huh?" Wendy reached out to touch the ladder. 

"Huhhhhh."

"Huh?"

"You're freaking me out, dude." Soos panics, holding his cap.

"We should check to see who's out there, y'know. Just to make sure?" Dipper reassured Soos, him and Mabel following after Wendy.

"Sure we can! Roof time! Roof time!" Wendy chants at the top of the ladder, the twins right behind her. Soos looks out the window, humming worriedly.

Wendy opens the second latch and climbs over to the other side of the roof, the twins behind her. She waits for them at the sign and notices you, napping on the lawn chair with an arm over your eyes. Your bag on the ground and your sketchbook faced downwards on your chest and your hand atop of it.

"Hey, check it out!" Wendy said, the twins climb up next to her and notice you as well as you shift slightly in your sleep. 

"Woah!" The twins gasped,

"Heyy, that's where they've been this whole time!" Mabel said as they slowly climb down the roof to Wendy's spot.

"Did you put all this stuff up here?" Dipper asked, Mabel checking out the cooler.

"I may or may not sneak up here during work, all the time, all the time, everyday." Wendy explained, grabbing a pine cone from a bucket full of it and throws it at target on a totem post. "Yes!" 

"Cool!" "Me first!" Dipper and Mabel excitedly grab a couple pinecones and throws it at the target, and Dipper accidentally hitting the roof of a car causing it's alarm to start blaring, accidentally waking you up.

He reels back in embarrassment, his cheeks turning pink. "Jackpot! High five!" Wendy cheered, holding her hand up. Dipper stares at Wendy as her hair flows slightly from the wind. He smiles and high fives her.
