A/N: perhaps, some rereads from the old chapter might help you to recall the previous situation.

-

Barrow used his magic to turn the red dragon smaller. His mana was finally getting stable after the dragon died.

He dug three graves behind the White Castle.  One was for the red dragon's body. One was for the black egg's broken shell. And the last one was for his master whom he had nothing to bury.

He spent a whole night, making sure to send off the three individual well, before going back to find the other survivors of the dragon slayer village.

-

None.

There was no one left alive.

Uncle Gavin's body was nowhere to be found, but there was an old face that slightly similar to him. He was probably using Abandoning Life to shorten his lifespan.

Casin's corpse was still as fresh as ever. Maybe he was the last one to stand. Beside him, was his pale wife's body. Her shoulder was bitten off.

There were so many detached limbs nearby the spot. The berserk monsters last night were probably the ones behind this.

Barrow started to gather the rest of the limbs for its owners. It's better to attach them back to their bodies before burying.

-

Barrow stared at the two individuals' bodies.

One had her arm cut off. While the other had a big hole in his stomach.

They held each other's hands until the end.

Barrow had expected this, but in some ways, he had also wished them to escape successfully.

Barrow closed the eyes of the two corpses.

He had no more energy to cry. His eyes became dried as dust.

Only the unlife pupils were displayed within his dead eyes.

Mom, dad, I'm alive. You can rest in peace.

-

It took more than three days to bury all of the villagers' bodies.

Barrow stayed up all night, carved their names on their respective graves. Alice. Hugo. Gavin. Casin. Mia.... He made sure to put the graves of the family members together, so that they wouldn't separate from each other even after death.

He picked up the flowers that the villagers grew in order to celebrate special occasions.

Funny.

Those flowers turned out to be for their graves.
