Ch. 1 : He Always Comes Back

{a/n: springtrap throughout this chapter looks like how he does in the cover. i decided to do this after reading stories similar to this; also my springtrap and deliah obsession is coming back 😭 i hate ads so these chapters are gonna be as long as i can make them. i apologize for the amount of time skips, i'm bad with pacing when it comes to beginnings. i feel like i'd rather get to the good parts quicker than waste too much time with exposition. aside from that, i hope you guys enjoy.}

Ch. 1 : He Always Comes Back

Being the town mechanic, you couldn't help but feel excitement knowing an animatronic-based horror attraction was opening up in town. At 26 years old with many years of experience, you grew up with the old Fazbear restaurants; starting with Fredbear's Family Diner.

You remembered Fredbear and Spring Bonnie, having many good memories from the old diner. Spring Bonnie was always your favorite.

Experiencing those restaurants was what started your fascination with animatronics, and eventually led you to getting your dream job.

Tonight was the grand opening of Fazbear's Fright, and you had made plans to go with a group of work friends.

~~ Later That Night

You collapsed onto your bed, exhausted after the haunted house visit. It wasn't anything special, but you couldn't help but feel like the main attraction seemed a little familiar..?

Even if the experience was a little disappointing, at least you had fun.

~~ A Few Months Later

The headline of the newspaper today read, "Fazbear Fright Goes Down in Flames." You stared at it with wide eyes, unable to believe it.

"That's a shame," you say to yourself, sipping at your coffee. "Maybe I'll drive by after work to see the damage."

As you got into your car and made your way to your workplace, you decided to take a stop to the town's candy store before work.

Sure, everyone loves candy, but you preferred going to this store in particular because it was a small business. Also, you got to visit a little friend you made.

You opened the door to get greeted by a little bell, and a blonde man with stubble said, "Welcome back, (y/n)! Here to buy anything today, or are you just here to see my Deliah?"

Nick Edwards was a worker here, and he usually had his little girl with him. You gave him a smile and responded with "Both, actually. Can I get a (f/flavor) bag of jawbreakers and a (f/flavor) fudge bar, please?"

The worker gave you a smile. "Absolutely, I'll be right back with those." Before he went to the back, he guided Deliah to the other side of the counter. "Go on, sweetie. They're here to say hi to you."

As Nick walked away, you smiled at Deliah, kneeling down to her level. "Is this my little Deliah here? My word, look how big you are!"

Deliah giggled and ran up to you, giving you a big hug. You pick her up and spin, laughing along with her. "(y/n), where have you been?? I haven't seen you in FOREVER!" The teen asked.

"Ah, work stuff. You know the deal." You responded, setting her down. "How have you been doing? After, y'know, it just being you and your dad now-" You cut yourself off, worried you said too much.

Deliah's smile fell a little, but she looked fine besides that. "We've been okay. I'm a little more lonely than usual, I just wish I had more friends from school, or someone to hang out with at home when dad is working. That's the only reason I come with him to work."
