Cody woke up drenched in a cold sweat, panting and gasping for air as he sat up from his bed. He looked around in a confused manner. He's dead. Or, he's supposed to be atleast. No, he should be. He stepped in front of that car, he wrote those letters to his mum, dad, Gwen and Noah's parents. Noah's parents! If Cody was for some miracle of a reason alive and in his room, Noah had to be too!

Cody looked around still sitting up under the covers on his bed, and picked up his phone laying on his nearby table. Before he placed his thumb to the home button to unlock it, he checked the time and day. October 26, 2019. Weird, he remembered it being around the middle of November in his dream, but ignored it.

He opened his phone and scrolled down to the contact "Noah🪱❤️" he was about to ring him, but Cody decided he was too impulsive for that. He threw on his striped jumper and some jeans and ran downstairs.

"You're finally awake, sleepyhead. You've been asleep practically all day," his mum said from the sofa. How long was he asleep anyway?

"Yeah, I had a nightmare, haha. When did I fall asleep by the way?" He asked his mum.

"Oh no, i'm sorry sweetie, and probably right around when I got home from the hospital," she didn't seem very concerned, just in thought mostly.

"Noah's okay, yeah?" He asked his mum once more, except now this time she gave a smile to him.

"Yes sweetie, Noah is okay. His parents actually called me earlier asking if they could meet me and you someday soon," Cody let out a long sigh of relief at that.

"Okay, you wouldn't mind if I go see him, would you?" She shook her head in a smile and hugged Cody.

"No, baby, I don't mind. You want any food before you go?" Cody shook his head and explained that he would stop at a restaurant before coming home.

After he slid some shoes on, he practically ran to Noah's place, which in hindsight Cody should've rode his bike or caught a bus sooner. Eventually, once Cody reached town, he hopped on the train and called Gwen. He'd never been happier to hear her voice.

"Hello?" Gwen asked in a confused and annoyed tone.

"Gwen! Oh my god, i'm so happy. Thank fuck," Cody practically yelled in a breathy voice.

"What?" Gwen was in utter confusion as to what the boy was talking about.

"I- nothing, it's a long story, I just missed you is all," Cody sugarcoated. Gwen laughed before calling him an idiot and hanging up.

As the train got to Cody's stop, he walked around the nearby shops to get a small gift. He really hoped that this wasn't a one-sided miracle, that Noah was okay aswell. It would make sense for him to be okay, atleast in Cody's mind. If Cody and Noah are okay, does that mean Sierra is still alive, and all the trauma the two boys gained died with the nightmare? He didn't care right now, all he cared about was if Noah was alive like him.

Cody walked to the books shop, not entirely sure which one he would like. He picked up one that looked cool in his eyes, They Both Die at the End. The cover had two shadow figures walking along a bridge at night, their shadow from the bright moon making the shape of the grim reaper.

After Cody bought the book and got to Noah's neighbourhood, a sudden rush of emotions hit him. He remembered in his dream, Noah died before Cody, and Cody told himself that if Noah somehow could wake up, he'd give him the biggest hug. So that's what he was going to do now, he is going to give Noah the book and the biggest hug and as many kisses as it took to numb his lips.

As he got to the door of Noah, Owen and Izzy's flat, he got that feeling of a pit in his stomach once more. It felt similar to when he first asked Noah out, the feeling of uncomfort and nerves bouncing around in his veins.

He knocked on the door, while waiting for one of the three that lived there to answer, Cody stepped on all the leaves on the wooden floor that looked like they'd crunch under his shoe.

"Woah, what the hell happened to you? You look horrible, no offense," Noah said as he opened the door. Cody looked up at him and squeezed him in a hug as if he were trying to pop a balloon.

"Oh, thank god you're safe," Cody muttered out as he buried his face into Noah's warm chest. The slightly taller boy slowly wrapped his arms around the latter and let out a laugh.

"Why wouldn't I be?" Noah asked in a giggle. He was confused, but not complaining about the company.

"I'll tell you later, can you hang out, now?" Cody asked while pulling away, keeping his hands on Noah's waist.

"Yeah, but are you sure you're okay, Cody? You- I mean this nicely, but you look bad," Cody knew he wouldn't look too good. He wasn't going to lie, he hadn't even attempted to clean the sweat he woke up in off his back. All he needed was Noah and to know that he was safe. And he was going to make sure he knew Noah was okay before doing anything else.

"I'm fine, just come on. Also, I got this book for you," Cody handed him the blue book as Noah grabbed his green bomber jacket and handed it to the smaller boy.

They chatted a bit about random topics until they reached a bridge hundreds of feet above a body of water. Cody sat down with his feet dangling above the water, Noah sat down beside him before laying down on his boyfriend's thigh.

"As much as I love hearing you ramble about spider-man, why did you randomly come to my place to make me come with you?" Noah asked the boy he used as a pillow while they both watched the sun come to a set. Cody knew he'd have to tell him sooner or later, but he figured he'd try to procrastinate about spilling it.

"I uhm, it's gonna sound stupid, alright?" Noah scuffed and nodded, telling Cody to continue. "Last night, I had this nightmare where we ran away together with your dog. If we ignore all the trauma we got by the end of the nightmare, it wasn't too bad until you died. After you died, I guess I never realised- well I did, but I never like, really realised how much you mean to me. After that, I guess I just, couldn't take it anymore and walked out into the road, and that's when I woke up." Noah's eyes were filled with tears and Cody was trying to hold back his nervous laughter.

Noah sat up from Cody's leg seconds after wiping the tears off his face and held his arms out, leaving the latter confused. "Hug me," Noah started. "I don't know which of us needs it more after that, but I know its one of us, so hug me," and Cody did just that.

When Cody pulled his head off Noah's shoulder, he gave the darker boy a quick kiss. Noah, in his mix of emotions, grabbed Cody by his neck and hungrily kissed him back, like the memories from the nightmare would go away the more passionate the kiss became.

"I'll go back home now, you were probably busy anyway," Cody said once the two finally pulled away.

"You don't have to, if you don't want. You can stay at my place," Noah reassured with his hands still holding onto Cody's face.

"Well i'm not sure it's your's," Cody teased. Noah didn't laugh though, he kept a straight sad face.

"I'm serious, babe, you don't have to but I want you safe," Cody couldn't separate reality from dreams. It was sad, but the truth. Derealisation. Everything felt surreal, proper mental. He felt like breaking down right there in his boyfriend's arms whether this was real or not.

"Cody?" Noah asked alarmed. Cody couldn't be mad at him, it was the world he should loathe. But, for some strange reason he felt like he never had before, both scared, sad, and angry. All towards Noah. He hadn't done it, Cody knew that, but why was he angry?

"I'm okay, and it's alright i'll go back home," it stung as Cody muttered the words into Noah's forearm. He knew that his house with his mum was home, but Noah also was, hell even Dream-Cody knew, but he needed alone time. Even if he was worried sick about Noah.

"Actually, no. Can we go to your place, watch movies, cuddle, or whatever?" Cody promised if he woke up he'd take Noah on the biggest best-est date ever. A promise is a promise, and Noah's alive. The darker boy had a grin on his face as he nodded and took the paler's hand, walking the two home. Home.

A/N: I would very much like to say that even though in the description its called a "sequel" to Quicker Apologies, it kinda isnt lol. This is mostly just a "oh what if this happened" kind of story. the real ending, sadly, was the two dying, but i felt sympathy so i am giving you guys this. Anyway, love you, more chapters soon to come
