Chapter 3

Katelyn's POV

Today is Sunday. I've been captain for a week. Me and Andy work today and my family well only my parents my siblings their significant others my grandparents and nieces and nephews and my cousin Jorden and her wife and kids are coming today even my family from New York. My dad's side of the family will be coming in two days. Andy moved in yesterday. Kristen is adjusting to living with me perfectly. The kids are all coming to work with me. I work a 12-hour shift. I get off at 6. The kids are on winter break now.

I hear my alarm go off making me groan. I reach over and shut it off. I kiss Andy's cheek then get out of bed. I go to the bathroom and do my business then brush my teeth. I go to my closet and put on a pair of basketball shorts and a tank top. I put on socks and my sneakers. I go to my at home gym. I work out for an hour then head to my room. As I walk out of the gym room, I see that Andy and the kids are all out in the living room even Cameron they are all dressed. I head to my room. I head to the bathroom. I turn on the shower and adjust the temperature. I strip from my clothes and get in. I wash my hair and body. I get out and dry off. I wrap the towel around my waist and head to my closet. I put on a black Nike sports bra and black Nike boxers. I put on a pair of black jeans and a white t-shirt. I put on my socks and adidas sneakers. I go to the bathroom. I comb my hair and style it. I put on deodorant and cologne. I walk out of the bathroom and shut the light off on the way. I put on my Apple Watch and grab my phone. I grab my duffel bag and the book bag with the things for the kids to do and laptop bag with my laptop so I can do some online Christmas shopping for Cameron and Kristen. I head out of my room and put the bags on the couch. I notice Cameron on the floor. I walk over to him and kiss his head. I walk to the kitchen. "Morning kiddos." I say. "Morning mama." The twins say. "Morning Katelyn." Kris says. "Morning Babygirl." I say to Andy and kiss her. Which the kids say ew. Andy gives me my breakfast and I eat it.

After I'm done, I grab my thermal that has my coffee in it that Andy made for me and tell everyone it's time to go. I grab my bags and Andy grabs Cam and his diaper bag. We head to my SUV. We get all the kids in then we get in and head to the station. I put on the song buy dirt.

We just got to the station. We get out and the kids get out. I grab my bags while Andy gets Cameron and his diaper bag. We make our way inside. I head to my office while Andy and the kids head upstairs. I go inside my bunk and put my bags down. I strip out of my civilian clothes. and shoes and socks. I put on my work pants the put on my belt then put on my Seattle fire department shirt on and tuck it in then put on my button up shirt and button it up then tuck it in then button my pants up then fasten my belt. I put on my crew socks and put on my boots. I put my clothes in my bag. I grab my house keys, so I have them when my mom comes to pick them up. I head out my office. I head up to the beanery. "Morning 19." I say. "Morning captain." They say. I look and see it's 7 which means my family should be in Seattle now. "So, cap your family comes in today huh." Jack says. "Yeah. They should be here in Seattle now." I say. "Ah." He says. The beanery door opens, and jones comes in. "Hey, cap your parents and sister are here." He says then I see my parents and baby sister. "SISSYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!" Gabriella yells and runs towards me, and I catch her. "Babygirl." I match her enthusiasm and squeeze her tightly. "I missed you." She says. "I missed you too." I say and kiss her head. I place her on my hip and hug my mom and dad. I give them my keys. I put Gabby down and she goes back to my mom. "Hey tonight I'm making my meat lovers lasagna tonight." I tell my mom. "Alright sounds good." She says. "Alright." I say. "Well, we're going to head to your house see you tonight." She says. I hug my parents and little sister. I tell them bye and they leave. As soon as they leave, I tell the team to head to the barn for line up. They all head down to the barn. I tell my oldest to watch her siblings. I head to the barn. I give them their chores and all that then dismiss them. I grab my thermal from my office since I forgot to bring it with me. I take a sip and head up to the beanery. I see Vic holding Cameron. "Katelyn, you want your son?" She asks. "Sure." I say. She hands me my son and I put him on my hip. I take a sip of my coffee and cam tries to take my cup. "Hey Kristen." I say to my oldest. "Yeah?" She says. "Can you make a wish list of what you want for Christmas it doesn't matter how much it is or how big it is just write it down so I can get you it for Christmas." I tell her. "Alright do you have paper and a pen or pencil?" She asks. "Yeah. I'll go get it from my office." I say. I put my thermal in the sink. I still have Cameron on my hip. I head out of the beanery and go down the stairs. I go to my office and grab a couple pieces of paper and a pen. I head back up to the beanery and give it to Kris. "Hey captain you know what you should do?" I hear Jack say. "What?" I say. "We should all hang out at your house tomorrow since we all have off." He says. "You do realize I have my whole family plus Andy and my kids at my house right now right?" I ask. "Yeah." He says. "Your lucky my house is huge. Let's do it. I'll have Andy send y'all the address." I say.

It's the end of the day and we went on 6 calls. I'm at home and I just made dinner and now we're eating. I get the kids ready for bed. Then head into mine and Andy's room and get ready for bed then snuggle with Andy and soon fall asleep.
