Unexpected is an understatement

I woke up still groggy and my leg was in major pain. I looked around and started to freak out because of my surroundings but quickly calmed down. Next to my bed sat Klaire who looked excited that i was awake. "Oh my Elyssa! Your awake!!!" she squealed hugging ms but stopped when i grunted in pain. I opened my mouth to say something but she closed her mouth and ran out of the room. I sighed and sank back into the hospital bed trying to recollect my thoughts on why i was here. Then the answer walked right through the door... literally. Standing beside my bed was Bekah. A sister who ran away and failed to write or call or show up to any of my birthdays. "Elyssa." she smiled grabbing my hand.

BEKAH'S P.O.V

She looked at me like i was a disease but i couldn't blame her. it was my fault. She pulled her hand back and rested it on her chest. "Elyssa, im sorry." no answer was given and i was upset. She turned away and it was apparent she didnt want to talk. I turned on my heel retreating my hand from her bed and went back out into the hall where cousin Louis was having a conversation with Harry, my boyfriend. As i walked up to them the conversation ceased. "Well she wont talk to me..." i said rocking on my heels a tear escaping down my face onto the floor. I dragged myself over to a chair and sat down drowning every sight and sound out.

START FLASHBACK

I snuck around the house, Elyssa was still asleep and mum and dad were still not home. I grabbed my cheer bag and ran outside throwing my key onto the table so i didnt ever have the thought to come home. I stopped in front of Elyssa's room and blew her a kiss. I started on my way walking for an hour far from anywhere i've been. As i continued down the road i saw a car swerving around while speeding down the road i ran far out of the way just in case they came over this way. Then BOOM! They crashed right in front of me. Rolling over 6 times. I ran over to the car to get a closer look and saw the license plate number. It matched exactly mum's. It was mum and dad too. "How could you!" i yelled at the dark night. "How dare you leave Elyssa alone!" i heard sirens coming my way so i ran off. After i made it a while away from the car i tripped, tears spilling over my wounded knees. i sat and cried for a few minutes until a wet nose touched my arm. i jumpped and to my surprise there was a boy my age and his dog in front of me. "Whats the matter?" the boy asked. I didnt reply so he started to walk away. five minutes later he jogged back to me a women with him this time im supposing his mother. "Hun, why dont you come with us? Its okay love everything will be okay." she cooed.

I immediately felt bad for after that day i never thought of Elyssa. I deserved this silence i really did.
