At some point, you get sick and tired of secrets. Sometimes you accept that you will never know the truth about a certain situation because you feel like it is none of your business. But then it affects you so much and it is completely your business. The only way to get your life in order is to find the truth.

There were red patches and lines all over her arm. I am guessing that whenever the wound's blood would dry, she'd scratch off the dry blood to make it easier to apply makeup onto it. Did the makeup not infect the wounds with its chemicals and what not? That must have been a lot of work and it also must have HURT. She should have just worn long sleeves instead of going through all that work.

"Kelly, who is doing this to you?" I asked as I cleaned the whole of her arm to find even worse bruises and scars that were not there before. She had a few wounds healing and it was all being hidden under makeup. She just shoved her arm out of my hand and then started to walk to her room but I tried to hold her back. "Kelly, please, this is serious, who did this to you?" I asked again. I just saw tears start to drip down her face but not a word left her mouth. "Kelly..." I can't help her if she won't tell me.

"I c-can't tell y-yo-you." she sniffed as she dried her tears. At this point her eyes were already red and I was so worried.

"Why not?"

"I just can't. Ok?!" Her tears became more before she went to her room and shut the door.

She has to tell me so that I know how to keep her safe. These things are worse than the ones she got from her parents. If she doesn't tell me then I will find out eventually anyway.

I went to her room and knocked on the door. "Kelly..." I called out. "Kelly please open up," I begged as I waited and she finally opened the door.

She was in tears her eyes were red and swollen. I entered her room, sat on her bed, and patted her next to me, indicating for her to come to sit.

"I can't tell you who did it." she sniffed as she sat next to me.

I went to my room and got the first aid kit before returning to hers. I sat down next to her as I heard her small sniffles. I hate seeing her like this. Whoever abused her is lucky I don't know their identity... yet.

I watched her wince in pain as I grabbed some cotton on which I applied some hydrogen peroxide before patting it on her wounds. The girl had dirt on them a few seconds ago, she is already hurt, I don't need her getting sick with some bacterial infection.

I applied plasters to most of her wounds. The most massive ones. I left the ones that were small and didn't look severe. I looked her in the eye, her eyes were glossy and she looked more broken than ever. I could see from the look that it was best not to push her to tell me right now.

I sighed as I hugged her and caressed her hair. I heard her sniffing before she hugged me back and laid her head on my chest. I rubbed her back as her tears kept flowing and she hang on to me like she thought someone was going to take me from her or take her from me.

These secrets keep getting more and more... I don't know what the word is... they are more and more important to find out. If I knew what was behind everything, I would know how to keep her safe. But I don't, and my ways are few she would not like, they are not even 100% effective, but I have to try.

Gladly... she was finally able to calm down and her tears stopped dripping from her eyes, though she was still sniffing.

"Chase..." She quietly called out my name.

"Yeah?" I answered matching her volume.

"Thank you for always being there for me." She tightened the hug a little bit, not too much that I my lungs couldn't function.
