Shopping Incident

i wake up and see that jay is still asleep in his bed. i glance at the clock on his bedstand.

6:02 am

Urghh, i roll over and try to get back to sleep, but it almost impossible. When it hits 6:15 I get up and quietly walk out of the room. I've mastered being quite around Jay, knowing that he is a light sleeper. Obviously will isn't up yet so, I take my vape out, and take a few puffs, it's mint flavoured so it doesn't smell at all.

I make a coffee and sit down on the sofa, turning on the television at a low volume. I watch for about an hour before Jay emerges.

'Moring kiddo,' he says ruffling my hair and making himself his own cup of coffee, then sitting next to me.

'how long you been up,'

'dunno about an hour and a half, when does will get up?' I say still concentrating on the screen

'normally around eight.' He says then looks at me. 'have you taken your meds?

I roll my eyes and throw my head back, 'jay I've been doing this for ages, I don't need you pestering me!' I groan

'Alright no need to snap, I way just asking,' he says taking another sip of his coffee

'Sorry, not used to this,' I say getting up to put my mug in the sink. Then will makes an appearance.

'morning guys,' he says going to the coffee machine. I go back and sit next to jay.

'Ahah I think caffeine is the drug in this family,' I say earning a look from my brothers, 'I think you all need more,' I chuckle.

'Oh haha,' jay says sarcastically, then taking another sip.

'I know I'm so funny.' I say getting up. I put some bread in the toaster, 'what's the plan for today?'

'We're going to get you some stuff from the mall, then we could go out for lunch,' Will suggests.

'Cool, what time should we leave?' I say buttering my toast.

'an hour?' jay says, 'gives us time to get ready and me and will to have breakfast.'

'K.' I say starting to making my way to my... jay's room.

'Oi! No food in the room.' Jay yells after me. I roll my eyes and walk back out.

'Why?' I groan sitting at the table,

'Because.' Jay says taking another sit of his coffee. I scrunch up my face and look at Will.

'Don't look at me I have no idea, it's one of his rules,' he chuckles. I scoff and finish my toast.

'Willl?' I ask after putting my plate in the sink

'What do you want?' he says smirking at Jay.

'Please can I have my phone back?' I ask hopefully,

'Yes, I'll go get it.' he says getting up and disappearing to his room, then emerging 20 seconds later.

'Thank youuu!!' I say,

'eh, do that shit again you'll get it taken away for longer,' he says seriously and I nod.

'Words,'

'Okay,' I say taking it from him and going to get ready...

After an hour we're all in the car heading to the mall. We get there and it's not that busy.

We get out and head in.

'Right you'll need some sort of storage, and pyjamas,' jay chuckles, 'do you have enough things for school,'

'Erm I think so,'

We spend the next hour collecting the things we need, we pay. Will goes and put the shopping in the truck whilst me and Jay head to a diner, we get a table and Will joins us soon after.

We order our food, I excuse myself and go to the toilet.

Shit, I say internally when I see blood has leaked through my underwear and my sweatpants. I sit in the stall debating what to do. I must have been in the toilet for a while cause I hear will's voice.

'Ej you in here?'

'Yes, can you get Jay?' I ask.

'Yeh, are you alright,' Will says.

'I'm fine just get jay.' I repeat.

A couple of seconds later I hear Jay at the door of the restroom.

'kid you okay, I'm not allowed to come in.'

'no can you get me another pair of trousers and a pad,' I say trying not to cry.

'sure, I'll be back in a sec. I'll get someone to pass them to you,' he walks off. I try not to burst out crying with embarrassment

About 2 minutes later Jay returns, knocking on the stall door. I open it slightly, he gives me a pair of trousers and a pad whilst looking at me with sympathy.

'I thought you said you weren't allowed in here?' I say quickly getting changed

'The waitress said that it was alright to,' he says. I finish sorting myself out and open the stall door.

'All good,' jay says giving me a smile and I nod, 'just out of curiosity, why'd you want me and not Will.'

'I dunno, didn't want will to go all doctor mode I guess,' I reply as we walk out of the restroom and back to the table.
