Claire's POV:
I get home from my pointless psychology class, loaded with bags on my arms and I'm welcomed by Brock's small arms hugging around my thighs. I reach down and give him a small peck on the head and I ask him politely to remove his arms so I can bring my bags in. I'm so happy that I had finished my class for the week! I finish up next week & since I've already done my finals, I'm basically done. Even though my psychology & math teacher have gave me homework of pointless untested work. Ugh, the struggle.
I'm basically on Summer Break, even though it's only the start of April. But I've decided that I'm staying in Pocatello for the summer and my family is coming in for a weekend or so. I love it here. I think I might make a life here.I walk down stairs to my large room, drop my bags by my door so I can organize them later and flop down on my bed. I think of the two options I can do, help Colette with dinner or do my math homework. I choose helping Colette. I change into some slightly more comfortable clothes, tie my custom made floral apron around my petite figure and walk up the wide stairs once again.
Once I meet Colette in the kitchen, I see her helping Avia with her 6th grade math homework. Colette's not the best at Math; math is usually Shay's subject. But Shay is on a trip with his "brothers", Casey, his real brother & Trevor, his buddy, in L.A.
"Claire, could you please help Avia with her math? I'm fairly busy right now with cooking dinner and editing videos in between." She asked me politely, seeming as she has a lot on her plate at moment.
"Sure!" I say enthusiastically, " I was planning on helping you out with dinner, but I'm okay with this!" I love math and the kids are always so easy to deal with. I'm used to helping kids with school work; I used to tutor for tuition back in high school.
"Thank you so much Claire!" Colette says, happy she doesn't have to deal with Avia's schoolwork right now!
"Okay so let's do number 17 here. It looks as if you're struggling with that one Ave. 13 multiplied by 12, come on, let's try it." I say, helping her through the problems that she couldn't get through without some guidance.
We continued to do this for about the next twenty minutes, where we also ended up changing from the kitchen island to Avia's hot pink room.
"DINNER TIME GIRLS!" Colette yells through the intercom.
We had finished Avia's homework about 15 minutes ago and I was chilling in Avia's room, showing her Zoella's Instagram feed. We head upstairs to eat some tacos.
*****************************************
After dinner, I end up spending about 2 hours on Psychology & Math homework, before I get a text message from a number I don't know.
"Hey! I just wanted to say you look so beautiful!"
My eyes come open. Was I being followed? I don't know many people here in Pocatello, and those I do know, I have their number saved in my phone. It might be someone from school, but how'd they get my number? I decide to go back to my homework & finish it up.
A hour passes, I have finished my homework by now. I don't message back anything to the mysterious texter. I decide it's time to talk to Colette. She always knows what's best for me, even more than my mom do most times.
I walk up the stairs to an empty kitchen. I wonder where she was. I check upstairs in her room, nothing. She didn't tell me she was going anywhere. Of course, being the over-thinker I am, my mind goes to the worst place possible. I erase that from my mind immediately, I'm sure she must have had to run to the store, or drop one of the kids off to their extra-curricular activity.
I walk back downstairs, thinking of calling her on her phone. I hear a feminine voice come from Emmi's room.
"Emmi Laurie Butler, you have to clean your room or your not going to the movies on tomorrow night with all of us. Even Claire & Logan are coming. I'll send you off to be babysat by So let's get this done Tomorrow, since it's the weekend. Now it's time for bed, come on."
I walk to Emmi's violet room. She just had moved into her own room about a week ago & it's a complete mess. My mind goes to who Logan is, because I haven't heard of him in the past 15 months I've been here. Maybe he's one of Shay's friends. Oh well, it's the least of my worries right now.
"Hey Colette, do you mind coming to my room? I have something very important I need to talk to you about." I say, with a fairly concerned look on my face.
"Uh, sure sweetie! I think I'm done lecturing Emmi for today. We can chat upstairs in the dining room, since all the kids are in bed besides Gavin." She says as she walks upstairs with me. We approach the top.
I look my phone, 11:39PM. Woah, I didn't realize it was that late.
"Um, so I just got a text from this number I don't know. What should I do?" I ask, very concerned.
"Oh my Goodness!" She says....-------------------------------------------------------
