Today was the day, you and your brothers were flying out to visit the family that basically kicked you out of their lives. You leaned back in your seat and crossed your arms. Last time you were on a plane, you were going to Japan, not leaving it.

Mikey bought a ticket with a different airline, but his flight would be later in the day. You were glad you decided to invite him along. You and your family weren't on the best terms. You found it crazy how none of them did anything to help you and your brothers.

You didn't hate your family; you just had a strong dislike for all the adults that could've helped you, but chose not to. But at least you can look forward to seeing your favorite cousin and introducing your boyfriend to her. Your cousin was actually Blasian like Nahoya and Souya.

You sat quietly in your window seat, staring up at the ceiling. Riley next you and Huey on his other side. You thought about different things you and Mikey could do, so you two wouldn't be bored. As you were planning out the trip in your thoughts, someone else had a few things on their mind as well.

Riley was unusually quiet. He had his headphones on, but seemed out of it. It took you a while to notice, but you finally did you asked him about it.

"Riley, what's wrong? Why you look so... out of it?" You asked, gaining both Riley's and Huey's attention, who looked up from his book.

He turned to you and slid his headphones down. "You know I hate that cheesy shit, but... do you think they even want us there for real?"

"What you mean?" You asked him.

"I'm talkin' about our "family." He did finger quotes. "Them nigga ain't do shit for us when we was struggling. We wasn't getting invited to shit, now they wanna consider us family cause we able to live without dem. Watch, when we get there they gonna be apologizing they ass off. Or they might even be tryna ask us for money and shit." He vented to me.

"Riley, even though they did us wrong they still family. And some of them actually couldn't help us. You know Auntie Janice got like 10 kids now, they live off food stamps and child support. Uncle Bobby just stopped doing crack. And Titi Savanna just barely able to pay her bills. The whole family struggling." Huey said in a soothing deep voice.

"Man, I ain't talking about them niggas. I'm talking about Uncle Phill. His ass live in a house as big as granddad's AND he get payed 3 times more than anyone I know." Riley snapped back.

As Huey and Riley started going back and forth about our family. With Riley throwing hate and Huey trying to defend them. You didn't know why he was defending them. As far as your concerned, Riley was right... in a way. But honestly you all needed to get over it.

"Let's just forget about it. It's over and done. If they ask us for anything, say no. We back in Woodcrest which means we get to see Cindy and Jazmine again." You said, giving teasing looks to both of my brothers.

"Oh shit, you right. I get to see my home girl again." He pulled out his phone, probably to text Cindy and tell her he was back in town.

Huey rolled his eyes, "you know I barely tolerated her."

"Mhm," you sighed out. You had a feeling that Huey had been talking to someone, a new girlfriend... maybe.

The rest of the plane ride was quiet. Me and Riley had ended up watching all 3 Friday movies. By the time we finished Friday After Next, our pilot announced that we were landing.

Time skip

I threw my suitcase on a chair next to my bed. Then I flopped my self on the bed. Huey stood by the entrance on my room door.

"At 8:00 we're getting dinner. Hopefully your lil boyfriend will be here before then. I'll let him room with you, but imma listen out for any weird noises. Don't play with me." Huey told me as he placed the two key cards on the dresser.

"I'm not dumb, Huey. We not gonna do anything like that, especially with your room right next door and Riley's across the hall." I rolled my eyes.

"What you mean especially? You ain't getting freaky in the sheets, period." Huey glared at me.

"Ok, ok." I threw a pillow at him. "Imma take a shower, he should be here in like 30 to 45 minutes."

"Ok, imma talk to you later." Huey then walked out the room, the door closing behind him.

I got out some tights and white cropped shirt. Then I went to take a shower. As I got out, my phone had started to ring. I looked at the contact to see Mikey calling.

"Yes, Manjiro?" I asked as I dried off with my phone on speaker.

"Babe, I'm at the hotel and I don't know where to go. It's the Grand Woodcrest Hotel right? The one that looks like it was made for rich white people?" He asked me.

I giggled as I got dressed, "yeah. Go to the elevator and come up to the 5th floor, room 512. Oh wait, ask for extra towels first at the front desk."

"Y/n you did remember that I don't speak English right?" I could hear him chuckle through the phone.

And to be honest, I did forget he couldn't speak English. Knowing two languages really mess with my head. Like sometimes I switch from English to Japanese when I talk and don't realize. Like one time when I was out with Hina and Emma, I was telling them about something that happened with Riley and the twins. I guess I got too excited and switched to English. I didn't realize until I saw their confused faces.

"I did forget. Don't worry about the towels, I'll call them up. Come on so we can get dinner with my brothers." I said and then quickly hung up on him.

I grabbed a key card off the dresser and exited the room. I knocked on Huey's door. He opened it shortly, he was fixing the collar on his shirt as he leaned against the door frame. An eyebrow raised on his face.

"Y'all ready to go? Mikey just got here." I asked him.

"I gotta find my Air Forces real quick and then imma check on Riley. We'll meet y'all downstairs." He told me and walked back into his room, the door closing on me.

I turned around back to my room and started to walk down the hall, when I heard the elevator ring. I turned around and saw Mikey standing there. I ran up to him and threw my arms around his shoulders. He planted a kiss on my forehead.

"I don't know how I'm gonna get by without English. The Uber driver was tryna talk to me and I couldn't understand what the hell he was saying." He scratched his head.

"I'll be your translator. Now come put yo bag up, so we can go." I pulled him with me to my room and swiped the card to open the door. I held it opened as he dragged his bag behind him.
