Chapter 2

Y/N POV

Today was my day off, I was still sitting on my bed. It was rare for me to have the day off, because for 6 months now I had been working my ass off to stay alive. But now I have a decent amount of money so I can live my life. It was still hard but at least I had some money so I could provide myself with everything I needed. I stayed in my bed for a while scrolling through my phone.
Hailee had posted on her insta story with the caption "Working on something "  with a photo of her at the studio.
Yes, queen Steinfeld with her music is back, I thought to myself. Hailee's music especially her most recent EP 'Half Written Story' was so relatable. I would listen on repeat to Wrong Direction crying myself to sleep. Her music helped me get through some bad shit and I am grateful for that. 
Mentioning Steinfeld, what the hell happened yesterday? I mean, Hailee? In the small, not so special enough cafeteria? I guess we do live in New York so it wasn't completely impossible but damn...
I looked over to my chair seeing Steinfeld's jacket laying there. I feel bad for keeping that on my house, not actually cause...you know it's Hailee's !!! But still, it was freaking Steinfeld's jacket, I mean can you blame me for taking it home with me? ANYWAY...

I got up to brush my teeth and do my morning skincare routine. After that, I sat down on my couch with a cup of coffee I just made and opened Netflix.
Should I try texting Hailee...to let her know about her jacket?...not me thinking that she will reply...lol...
Fuck it, let's do it.
I opened my DMs and went to Hailee's chat..
"Let's ignore the embarrassing texts that I have sent..." I whispered to myself.

y/instagram/name: Hi, you left your jacket at the cafeteria yesterday. I thought I should let you know. 
I left my phone beside me on the couch and continued my show (A/N: WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING RN???).
Hours passed and I got hungry, made myself some dinner, and continued my binge-watch. I checked my phone to see if I had any notifications. Silly me thinking that she will actually reply. 
 After a while my phone rang, it was my best friend.

Hey, any plans for tonight?  She said.

Nah, not really. I am literally sitting on my couch eating and watching series all day.

Are you stupid? It's your first day off in a while and you are spending it doing absolutely nothing? 

Basically. I said sarcastically 

Uh..BORING. Come on get ready, we can go to the skate park, our friends are hanging out there, it will be fun. And you may meet some nice skater girl.

Skater girl? i giggled. I am intrigued.

Great, because we are gonna match. she giggled.

What do you mean by match?

I may or may not hooked up with a skater boy. 

I rolled my eyes. Of course, you did.

Oh shut up. Get ready, I am going to be there in 10'.

She hangs up after that sentence.

"For fuck sake this girl..." I said and got up to see what I gonna wear.

Hailee's POV

"Griff, do you wanna go to the skate park, you promised you are gonna teach me " I asked my brother who was sitting at the couch.
"For real?" he asked looking at me.
"mhm" I hummed 
"I would love to but I have to wake up early tomorrow Haiz" 
I came closer to him and pouted a bit.
"Please, we can go home early," I said looking at him, he smiled shaking his head.
"Fine Haiz, we will go," he said and got up.
"Thank you, Griff," I said smiling at him, have him a kiss on the cheek, and went to my room to get dressed.
I put on some boyfriend jeans and a black crop top. 
"Griff?" i yelled.
he came to my room knocking first "Yeah?" 
"Have you seen my college jacket anywhere? I can't find it since yesterday" 
He shook his head. "Laundry?" he asked
"No, i was wearing it yesterday at the cafeteria. I didn't put it in the laundry. " 
"Maybe you forgot it there? I don't remember you wearing it when i picked you up" 
"fuck.." i said slapping my forehead.
"Stop being dramatic, you can go and ask them tomorrow. If you forgot it there, i am sure they kept it safe" he said laughing.
"Stop making fun of me Griff.." i said and softly pushed his shoulder.
"I mean it's just a jacket, it's okay." 
"No, it's not just A jacket. It's the jacket that says 'HAIZ' on it you know i love it and it holds a special place in my heart" 
"Okay, i am sorry, you will find it. Just go tomorrow and ask. If it's not there it's definitely somewhere in the house. We don't have a small house so it's easy for things to get lost." 
"Finish getting dressed, i am gonna be at my car," he said and walked away.

I grabbed another black oversized jacket to put on and fixed my hair a bit making them messy. I took a selfie and post it on my insta story.
I don't really know why they are obsessed with the "boyfriend" Hailee thing, but every time I post a pic with me being...idk? boyfriend material? eh, that was an ick... but every time I do it they get crazy.

I grabbed my skate that Griff bought me, it was handmade with my initials on the back and some pretty sick drawing of me kinda animated. I got to the car with Griff and we head to the skate park.

There were a lot of people there. And I was fucking impressed with the tricks they could do. I can't even stand on it for fuck sake..

"Ready?" Griff said laughing.
"Pfft I was born ready!" I said sarcastically 
"Yeah, we will see about that Haiz," he said and hopped on his skate sliding up to a deck.
He started doing some tricks on the half pipe. I rolled my eyes.
"Okay I get it, you are good, now help me stand on it." 
He laughed and came closer to me.

Y/N POV

Our skate park was pretty great, it had an empty swimming pool that we could slide in and do tricks, and it had some pipes, spines, a deck, and a small pyramid. The basketball field was close as well. It was our favorite place to hang out. I remember when I moved to New York I had no friends and one day I decided to go to the nearest park to calm down. That's how I met Audrey we immediately became best friends. She is literally the opposite of me but our vibes matched amazingly. She is the stereotypical skate girl literally, I was making far of her at first and she was making fun of me being the stereotypical masc lesbian. At first, I thought she was bisexual and you know, just because she was the first girl I ever met in this city, I had a crush on her. After some time we spent with together i admitted it to her and we sort these things out. Now we are great, i don't like her anymore we are literally like sisters. She is the straightest girl you will ever meet. And really supportive, she is trying literally anything to get me on a date, because as she quotes "i am the god of dates and i shall teach you my ways". 
(A/N i will not say anything about how she looks like, use your imagination it will be fun)
We greeted the other guys that were playing basketball and grabbed our skateboards to go to the empty swimming pool. 
"No one is here, great," i said and slide down to the pool.
"Boring cause if you fall i am gonna be the only one laughing" Audrey pouted while sliding down as well.
"So funny.." i said sarcastically 
Audrey moved along the walls of the bowl and then finally flew while grabbing a part of the board using her feet. She created a perfect turn while still standing on the board. And after that, she descended to the ground still standing on two feet.
"Beat that loser" she laughed and stood proudly at the top of the pool supporting herself on her skateboard.
I went to the top of the pool and slide down and then while i was in the air by raising my front foot from the board and scooping the back tail of the board using the back foot i did the pop shove it 360 trick. 
"Wow, you stole my trick." She said crossing her arms.
"Stole your trick? You taught me that so it's our trick now" i giggled and she rolled her eyes.
"Fine y/n" 

We heard some other group of people coming toward as.
"Hi guys," Audrey said sliding toward them giving high fives.
"Hi Audrey, hi y/n" our friend Josh said.
Josh, George, and Austin were in our friend group. 
"So wanna come and play basketball with us guys? Just one match, we need to create a team of four" Austin said almost begging us.
"Austin i don't know how to play," i said.
"Oh common we have a little crowd as well, pretty girls," Austin said looking toward me and giving me a wink.
"And guys" George said looking at Audrey.
"Especially one guy" Josh winked at Audrey.
"Noah is here?" Audrey said and Austin nodded.
"I AM COMING!"  she yelled and slid towards the field.
"Excuse me, who is Noah?" i said confused.
"Oh, the guy Audrey fucked yesterday," George said laughing.
I rolled my eyes laughing.
"I will come but i will not play. Please don't let me play" i sighed following the others with my skateboard.
"Okay you are good, you can observe us," Josh said bragging.
I rolled my eyes at him.

I sat at the stairs facing the basketball field. There weren't many people. Just four people, one couple that was sitting on the corner, i couldn't see them pretty well it was dark and two girls sitting together beside me.
Audrey, Josh, Austin, and George were a team. I didn't know the others but i guessed who Noah was by the looks Audrey and him were giving at each other.

Hailee's POV

Griff tried to teach me how to balance and slide with the skateboard for a long time. While we were doing that we heard loud yelling and clapping from the basketball field and we decided to see what was going on. They were gonna play a match so Griff and i decided to stay a little bit and watch.

"Okay bet, one of the two teams, who is it gonna win?"  Griff told me looking at me.
"Hmm, just because girls support girls..i am gonna go with the team that has a girl on their side" i said and crossed my arms.
"Okay, $10? " he said crossing his arms too and lifting his eyebrows.
I scoffed "$10? Lame, i go $100"  
"Deal" he gave me his hand.
"Deal" i gave him my hand as well to 'seal' the deal.

There was a girl sitting there alone, she was wearing cream cargo pants and a black oversized hoodie. She looked familiar but i couldn't remember from where.
"Are you looking at the game or?" Griff woke me up from my thoughts.
"Oh i was just looking at this girl, she looked familiar and i was trying to think who is she"  i explained.
"Go talk to her then, come on make some friends, it will be good for you to relax," he said and i smiled giving him a hug.
"Maybe later, i wanna spend more time with you Griff" he gave me the warmest smile.
"Will you take a pic of me with the skateboard? Make it look cool" i said standing up.

Griff took the pic and showed it to me.
"Thanks, Griff," i said and sat down again. Posting the pic on my Instagram story.

 Y/N POV

"COME ON AUDREY!!" I yelled.

Don't get me wrong but for me, basketball is a little boring, JUST BECAUSE I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT i swear!! So i opened my phone and watched some insta stories. Hailee still hasn't responded... I am kinda disappointed but also i was expecting it. I mean, she may not even run this account. Maybe her managers do. And even if she did, she has other things to worry about, and other people she responds to i am not gonna be the one she is gonna respond.
She posted a story though.
"NO WAY," i said to myself a little louder making the girls beside me notice me. 
This story has got to be here, it's similar. I looked around again and noticed the couple that i saw earlier that was sitting at the dark in the corner of the stairs. It's Griffin and Hailee...What the fuck..two days in a row seeing Hailee Steinfeld. You have to be kidding me...

I couldn't stop looking at both of them, I wanted to go talk to them. But how? I mean i already met her but i was working so i had to talk to her. But i can't just go towards her and say hello. I mean yeah she is a human being but she is also a pretty attractive woman that also is Hailee Steinfeld. And... attractive women AND Hailee Steinfeld makes me anxious...cause she is both.(A/N Sorry if the monologue doesn't make sense but that's how my mind would sound like if i ever had to experience that..)

The match was done and sweaty Audrey came towards me.
"Dude are you okay? You are white as fuck.." 
"I.. uhm..." i stuttered.
"Words y/n? Please" she said coming closer to me touching my cheeks.
"I am fine, i just...Hailee..is here" 
"Hailee?" she asked confused.
"Look," i said pointing my head to Hailee's direction.|
"Still don't get it, who is she i can't see, it's dark. But the guy beside her seems pretty handsome" she said winking.
"Hailee Steinfeld idiot," i said whispering.
"Oh..." she said in shock and looked at them again.
"GO!"  she made me stand up.
"Audrey wait i- " before i could say anything she dragged me toward them.

Before we could go closer they both got up , Audrey was still dragging me from my hand. Hailee was facing Griffin walking backward making fun of him for something. She dripped onto her skateboard and fell onto me.
