The Authentic Self:
If we were to eliminate all of the expectations, influences and demands that created the inauthentic self what would we be left with? That is the ultimate question to take into account when rediscovering the authentic self. What is the authentic self? Our authentic self is the true reflection of who we are. When we are authentic we don't try to live up to others expectations. We accept ourselves for who we are and we establish our own self-worth. We confidently speak our truths and embrace our individuality. When we are in a state of authenticity we create the lives we want to live and develop meaningful relationships. Although being authentic doesn't mean being happy all the time it does bring peace and joy in being true to who we were meant to be.
Unlike the inauthentic self the authentic self has self esteem, self worth and self knowledge therefore it has a real concept of self.
Here is a list of some characteristics we possess when we are in a state of authenticity;》 Soul-focused: we focus on ourselves from an inner perspective.

》Self-Actualized: we express and define the existence of the true self
》Non-Manipulative: we confidently share the true self with the outside world
》Non-Controlling: we accept that some things are beyond our control
》Non-Judgmental: we accept others and ourselves for who we are
》Expressive: we express ourselves and our emotions
》Friendly: we are trusting and make friends easily
》Open-Minded: we view things from different perspectives
》Realist: we accept our imperfections and learn from our mistakes
》Self-Driven: we make our own decisions
