"Come on Miekyla. We need to go to breakfast." I explained as I pulled my jumper on. It was way to big, but I liked it. Miekyla lazily got up, smoothing her fox tail over, before getting dressed. I hid my ears in my hooded jumper, before waiting for Miekyla. Once she was done, we exited our shared room, before walking down for breakfast. Today, we had the usual flavorless porridge. I quickly ate my food, before being allowed to go outside into the small back yard.

As soon as Miekyla got out, all the other kids began flooding out of the orphanage. As all the kids played together, Miekyla and I climbed our usual tree, looking out into the dark forest. My Tics had been acting up for a few hours now. This meant I would tic and twitch in ways that I couldn't control. I would crack my neck uncontrollably and twitch every once in a while. Another thing my Tics caused me to do was make weird animal noises, usually the sound of a Cuckoo bird. I was bullied about this a lot, but I've learned to tune out the voices of the other kids. People mocked me with exaggerated Tics and twitches. I've never seen anyone like me, who wasn't trying to mock me.

I had been starring into space for so long, that I hadn't noticed the sun setting, until Miekyla shook me awake. My eyes focused as I glanced at Miekyla, I felt like I was in a dream like state. I followed Miekyla as she led me into the orphanage. We ate dinner, before we were forced to go to bed. Miekyla and I had other plans however. Tonight, we had a plan to go onto the roof. There was an attic in the Orphanage that hadn't been opened in years. There were rumors of beds and games and even toys in there. We went to explore.

Tonight, Miekyla had hopped on my back as I climbed up the fallen tree that had crashed into the side of the orphanage during a great storm. I made it to the top of the orphanage, before I let Miekyla off my back. There was an open window on the roof, it seemingly led into the attic. I jumped down, allowing Miekyla to carefully slide down next to me. The attic was almost completely dark, but I could still see. There was a light switch, which I pulled, allowing a dim orange light to illuminate the room. There were 3 figures that had frozen, as if they were manikins. They stayed frozen, even as I walked up to them. My head snapped to the side, my shoulders rolling uncomfortably. I winced, but continued trying to observe the 3 characters.

I checked the first person. They were tall, I only made it up to just above their hip. They wore an orange hoodie, with long black pants and black combat boots. He wore a mask, it was black with a red stitched frown. The second person was also tall, they had a mustard yellow jacket, white shirt, black pants and brown hair. They also wore a mask, but this one looked like a female mask. From behind the mask, I saw brown side burns. They had dark brown eyes. My head snapped to the side as I made the cuckoo noise, before walking over to the third one. I clicked my tongue multiple times, my eyes closing for a minute, before observing the third manikin. It seemed to be moving occasionally. It made strange movements, it's head also snapping to the side, making a loud crack. They had orange goggles, a brown striped hoodie, with a blue hood on, they also had long black pants and 2 bloody hatchets in their hands. The blood dripped down and made a small puddle on the floor. My head cracked, my shoulders going in circles, before I reeled backwards.

My tongue continued to click as I made a cuckoo noise. I grabbed Miekyla, and hid her behind me in a protective manor. "Sarah, what's going on?" Miekyla asked confused as she clung to the back of my jacket.

"Stay here. I want to t-test something." I murmured, a head twitched mid-sentence. Miekyla obeyed as she hid behind a box. I then walked back up to the 3 statues. I grabbed a broken piece of glass nearby. I accidentally cut myself, but didn't care as I continued to walk towards the 3. I then harshly stabbed the person with the hoodie and goggles. They didn't react, I pulled the glass backwards and inspected it.

"Blood..." I murmured, glancing up at them, they were in a different position from before.

I walked towards Miekyla, not allowing my sharp gaze to leave the 3 people. "They aren't Manikins, they're real..." I muttered, my cat ears flattening against my head as my tail flickered anxiously. I glanced over to Miekyla, she was shivering, but not because it was cold, this was fear. I immediately looked back towards the three people. They had given up the act, and had stretched, not bothering to check the wounds of the man with the goggles. I dropped the glass, before glaring at the three people. They didn't react, just hit us both over the head. I couldn't do anything as my world quickly faded to black.
