Well here goes nothing ...
This is Jenna Alsalam , one of my original characters . She is a descendant of a family of Healers , and her ancestors practiced and mastered the art of medicine . Her appearance is based on the appearance of the standard Medic class in Etrian Odyssey , and to be honest I owe to that game and to the 7th Dragon series for helping me finalize many aspects of my characters . Jenna's appearance is different from the Medic little girl in few ways , like the ahoge hair strand is on the opposite direction , her red hair , and her clothes are different ( not that you can see them here since she's wearing a nightgown ) . As for her past and personality , they aren't the topic of our discussion , so let's skip that and speak about the drawing itself .
Well , for being the first one I've ever drawn , I suppose I could've done much worse . I'm proud of how I managed to get the light reflecting off of her head to show properly , the hair design in general had me very worried but I'm glad this is how it turned out , and the curves around the bedsheets are well done . That being said , I took more than few shortcuts with this , like choosing Jenna specifically because she's the easiest to draw , choosing to have her sleeping so I wouldn't have to draw her eyes , and the nightgown having only one shade of blinding white is bland ( I was planning to draw some embroideries of flowers , but I was too scared to make a mistake so I kept it as it is ) . I'm not happy with the black color at the edges , I feel like I couldn't keep the thickness consistent, the neck is a little too thick which makes her look fat , and the clavicle bones which are supposed to enforce the opposite of that are somewhat crude . Also , adding a pillow and a blanket helps the scene stand out , but where is the bed ? Is she actually sleeping on the floor ???
That's what I think about this picture overall ... I may have sounded harsh and strict , but I'm actually impressed by how well this turned out . Nevertheless , I want to know your opinion on this , and stay safe
