Okay , I don't know how many care to know , but this is Null ... one of the two original characters in my roster on whom I based my username Cosmos_Null .
Personally , this was a pretty difficult character to draw , which was mainly caused by his hair , I had to redraw it many times before I settled on this design . My idea of Null is that he is a boy with smooth long hair and soft skin , which make him feel upset when people mistake him for a girl because of it . He does look like a slightly older Jenna , doesn't he ? Actually , who am I kidding , I clearly missed the mark here ! What do you think , is what I'm going for a good idea , or should I rethink this aspect of Null ?
Besides what I mentioned above , Null is also a calm person sometimes to the point of laziness , and has low tolerance for other people's stupidity and entitlement . However , he is also level-headed and wise in critical situations , he is able to keep his thought process in order when others might panic . I'm not sure how much of that is conveyed in this drawing , and if you think an aspect of him is off , please let me know .
Now enough about his personality, let's talk about his appearance . Now , I mentioned how drawing his hair was like hosting a puppet show with my feet ( okay that's an exaggeration ... ) , but there's more to his design that I enjoyed besides that . I admit I felt like a genius when drawing his shield , because as far as I'm aware most Tanks in RPGs hold their shield with one hand and sword with the other . Null here has his shield strapped around his neck with a belt , so he can use it to block like a regular tank , or he can forgo using it and hold his sword with both hands . The blue scarf was okay for the full body , but when I started drawing every expression , it got in the way and made me annoyed . And ... well ... what else ... ?
Right ! The elephant in the room , the one thing I drew which probably brought Dragon Ball Z to your mind : Null's hair turning blond . No , this isn't super saiyan , and no I can't pretend that this idea is original ... oh well , I guess it can't be helped . When Null's hair turns blond and his eyes turn yellow , his powers becomes magnificent . However , this isn't sustainable for more than a minute , and much less if he takes a beating . You can see it in one of the expressions where he is beaten and bloodied , his hair is gradually reverting back to normal which is a sign that his powers are fading . What do you think ? Is this a nice detail ?
Hopefully next time , I'll draw Cosmos , and then I'd like to hear your thoughts about how her personality contrasts with Null's . For now , I hope you liked what you've seen , and stay safe .
